You're gathered at the local football field for the big annual game, every year all the town gets together and plays a big game of football. This game gets down to it's winding minutes in the last quarter. Last play of the game for the home team and they need a touchdown to win, they throw the hail mary pass. And it looks like the trusty wide receiver is going to make the catch!

Suddenly the ball pops and deflates. The referees put a hold on the game. Someone had shot the ball during its flight! The town was outraged only the local mafia had the audacity to shoot the football down during the local game, and probably because those buggers had bet on the VISITING team, the nerve.

The town decides they've had enough and its time to get those mafia members. They set out to get the mafia members, now if only the town remembered who they were...

I agree that short posts are, in general, bad for town.  That is not what makes them enjoyable though. And no, I'm not scum.  I'm town.

Ninja'd before I could inquire about a scumslip.  Let's see, looking forward to the next day so much, you forget what day it is.  On a Monday yet.  That seems scummy to me. Game already progressing quickly in your mind, because the passage of time represents progress?  In this particular setup, only Mafia are guaranteed progress each "day".

Then specifically hoping you're not a power role.  Smells like deflection.
