One of the coolest torturer games I've played

Just finished a really cool Torturer fight with Mr. Eevee. The cool features:
1) Interesting ability to build engine in early game w/ Conspirator Mining Village and Shanty town both being useful and helping get to torturers.
2)  A relatively close midgame fight where we both are able to build up chains, tough curse decisions (with some info from shanty town) and forge to help keep decks running. For most of the midgame I was not sure who was winning the war.
3) A really cool endgame where I think the right play is to transition torturers into double tac through forge and soak up Grand Markets/Conspirators provinces (including some cool microlevel stuff where you draw your deck and forge to get to Tac earlier, tho here Eevee misclicked which unfortunately ended the competitive part of the game.)
4) A game where after all 10 curses are given out that still ended with both players double/triple provincing.

With forge and double tac possibilities, I wonder if you could ignore torturer.  Here I would try

Consp/silver
Some mining village, conspirators at $4
Tactician first two fives
Forge ASAP
And I guess throw in torturer just for draw, after I have two tacticians.

If you get tactician and forge quickly enough I think you can delay entering the torturer war.  Getting 3 estates in yourfirst forging would be amazing.  And you can trash hard before your opponent is hitting you with 2+ torturers.

Usually. Chuck in something like a lighthouse and it can actually turn into a fun game.
