Steward/Overgrown Estate

Let's say I have a Steward, a Copper, and all three of my Shelters in hand.

I play Necropolis.
I play Steward, electing to trash.
I trash Overgrown Estate.

Here's where I'm slightly confused:

Do I:

a) Trash two cards at the same time, only getting their "when you trash" benefits after they're both trashed?
or
b) Trash Overgrown Estate, drawing 1 card, which I can then trash, instead of a card that was originally in my hand before I played Steward?

Steward doesn't say "trash one card then trash a second card."  It says "trash 2 cards", so you trash them both at the same time.  Therefore you cannot select the card you just drew to be trashed.

Two at the same time, then only get the benefits after. If you trash to 'when you trash' cards, you get to choose what order you get THEIR benefits in. But since steward says 'trash two cards', you have to pick both first.
On the other hand, I think remake, with the 'do this twice' wording, might be the other way around?

I can see a lot of casual players not getting that.

Tricksies!

But it does make sense. I agree that casual players may miss that, and I don't look forward to explaining to my group if it comes up. But the order of operations is apparent.
