Well, that was inevitable.

I wonder if this is just related to isotropic stability issues. (Maybe the intro message got mangled somehow.) I really doubt anybody would bother removing !details but not bother removing !status...

Sorry no just spreading the word before I get banned again.
But if you open the zip it's a chrome extension and instructions to install.

OK, thank you.

Well, folks, as predicted.

Kirian, you should edit out the image from your quote.

Or the spam police. Whatever you're selling, posting it across every post in every board is really annoying to everyone. Go away.

The (now deleted) troll's link is unrelated to this incident, anyway, because:
Message only offered option to type !status to check status.

Well, maybe if theory didn't blackhole my original post and ban my account I wouldn't need to take more drastic steps.

Wake up sheeple!

You still don't need to take more drastic steps.

Ssh... you'll alert the thought police.

I probably shouldn't feed the troll here, but here goes anyway.

This is a public forum. You are in no way required to post here, to continue viewing these message boards, or to continue visiting the site at all. If you want to keep posting, there's a certain etiquette you are expected to follow CurryBear/ WanderingWanker/ whatever other names you're using. If you break it then you get banned.

There are plenty of reasonable ways to argue for the point tracker, and many already have. Posting a link to a secret (to your opponent), undisableable point tracker is not a reasonable method and spamming it over several different topics wasn't helping your cause.

If you want to force people to play with it, start your own tournament and require it. This isn't how you go about it.

Also, wake up sheeple? Lol.

Hopefully the troll is gone or will be soon?

It's at least good to know this thing is out there.  It'd be nice if there were a way around it.  But I'd already remarked that I knew it would eventually happen.

If you want to troll constructively, put some effort in to add draw-deck tracking to the extension. (This requires a non-trivial amount of work.) I guarantee that you will get a double-digit-page thread from that, because draw-deck tracking is asymmetric: unlike with "!details" now, it's not fair to reveal to my opponent the contents of my draw deck, because my opponent can't know it themselves.

Pondering this post has led me to realize that using dominion cards to mirror my virtual deck makes concealed card counting easy and even fun!  I should try it.

EDIT: Would this post be considered "trolling"? I am uncertain.

Back on topic, I'm gonna chime in with my two cents:

I use the mega-point-counter, mostly because it shows the scores without having to click "info."  I do allow opponents to disable if they wish, and I think that's the way it should be.  The point counter is a variant, and a variant is fine if all players agree to it.  But if somebody doesn't want to play with the counter, they should be able to shut it down, no offense taken, no questions asked.

I wonder if this is just related to isotropic stability issues.

Yes, I believe it was. During that time, I noticed once or twice that my (totally unmodified) PCE didn't automatically post instructions about "!status" and/or "!details" at the start. But these commands still worked normally and could be used by everyone - when I noticed the lack of the instructions, I tried them out and asked my opponent to try them out as well (and they worked).
Since Iso is back to normal, I didn't experience the lack of the automatic instructions again.
