How about a general "boards where develop is good" thread?

Here's mine against Mr. O.P. verikt/Eli_k.

We both see develop/conspirator.  Here's what's great about it:
If they don't collide, cool: develop an estate or something, and get the +2$ from conspirator.
If they do collide, even better! Develop conspirator into the very strong scheme/governor.  We both got to do this: him on turn  3, me on turn 5 (develop missed shuffle).

Develop was also nice for putting a conspirator on top of my deck turn 11, which let me get a duchy from his Governor.

Anyway, I think 11 turns is pretty quick even for governor, but this was probably because we didn't buy many duchies as well as the conspirator->scheme/governor.

Here's a game where I use develop to support a vineyards strategy, alongside remake, upgrade, and transmute.

Interesting but weird. I can't help thinking there had to have been a shorter way that 23 turns. His opening made no sense. Village?! hamlet would have given him the same chance for +action and built up his jack if he drew them together.  And look at his turn 11. He draws 3 coppers, develop silver, trashes a copper and buys hamlet for 4. When he could have developed his silver instead. For that matter, had you opened develop jack, you could have been developing silvers to hamlet jack faster than develop>estate-develop>silver. Or, when you bought a transmute, develop to remake estate>transmute estate. I think I'd have opened develop jack and got the remake a turn or two later.

Yeah, in retrospect, I agree, opening jack and developing silvers probably would've been better. Also, if I remember correctly, I ran out of things to upgrade at the end, which is why it took so long to close out. Clearly I misplayed a bit, but the core strategy was basically right.

The consensus seems to be that develop is not a good card. :-)

Few good moves (including 3$ -> Baron + Estate,  $4-> Upgrade + Scheme so you can easily match Upgrade with Develop than, $7-> GM + Prov (never used)), but mainly:

$5-> Conspirator + Grand Market! Given that you can also Scheme stuff up, after toppdecking those two, it was easy to Conspirators to activate and than get a Prov. In fact, each time I've done this (3) I got a at least a Province.

I think I've already posted most of them in other threads, but I love to do post them again:

@Grujah

As soon as I saw the thread name I thought, "Pretty sure I got killed by Grujah with a develop".  Sometimes you never forget the first time you see a card work.
