This colony game was very close. Sometimes, I was behind and couldn't buy a duchy ("Penultimate Duchy rule"). So Duke helped me a lot.

Yes, IGG games are interesting.

69-52? No, It wasn't.

I took the lead after purchasing Dukes. Mid-game it was close.

Ah, yes. Also, I would start purchasing Dukes earlier, maybe when you have like 4 or 5 alternate Duke/Duchy.

That's not necessarily true in this game.  The objective of the IGG player isn't to amass as many points they can (ie. flip-flopping), it is to end the game as soon as possible.  I would think that as the game continues, the tournament player could amass points faster. 

The tournament player could've won on T28, if he just took duchy win his prize and bought duchy/estate for the win.  He would've needed to do trusty steed $2 and that's where i'm unsure if he knew it would have won.  I'm also pretty surprised he bought 0 Inn this whole game.

This is an interesting game indeed :)
