Hey guys,

I set up a twitch channel for streaming Dominion: www.twitch.tv/fsjoblom

I did a test video just now, if you guys want to check it out and let me know if it's crap (content wise (too detailed? too slow? too boring? too much talking? more action/faster games? is my english unintelligible?), audio/video wise, etc), that'd be cool: http://justin.tv/fsjoblom/b/324077232 I had to wait a while for an opponent so fast-forward ~2 minutes if you get bored.

The nice thing (imo) about twitch.tv is the subscribe function; If you click the subscribe button, you get an email notification when I go online, so you know when to watch. Other than that, I'll have the address in my isotropic lobby status message when I'm online and stream. Also, bookmark it and check it 10 times a day obviously

As for the test video, I think I played game 1 pretty well, and game 2 probably really bad. If someone watches it, feel free to tell me what I should be doing instead

I think the sound was a bit low on the first video but it better when you tweaked it.

Could you record a bigger part of the screen? As it is now, we can not see all your cards if you have a big hand, the points of the point counter in the bottom right corner or the log of the past turns.
Other than that and the volume it is fine.

What software are you using? You're getting MUCH better quality than I was able to with xsplit, and it would be really nice to have my stream look as nice as yours :)

I'm really enjoying watching your thought process! It's pretty similar to mine, but you think about enough things differently that I'm definitely learning.

EDIT: I really disagree with discarding that Gold to stables, though! You just needed to get to 5, and drawing 2 from Crossroads was pretty likely to get you at least a copper to fuel the stables, if not all the way to 5 (which it actually would have). And if it didn't, you still have the option of discarding the gold. All of those options seem easily worth the trade off of not getting to make your Crossroads better. Even if you did draw two more green cards, is drawing two MORE cards really that likely to do better than $3?

I'm using xsplit Personman. What made me get much better picture quality was View -> Resolution -> 1280x720, did you do that? If so, I have no idea. I was unhappy with it the first time I tried it out, but after changing that setting, I think xsplit rocks.

Nice to have someone comment on the gameplay I won't try to justify it, I think not being used to thinking and talking (in English, mind you) at the same time made me play kinda bad, definitely seems like it takes some experience. Looking back on it, it's pretty obviously a huge huge mistake, and one I don't think I'd make under normal cirumstances. I think it stems from a misunderstanding of what my deck wants to do at that point; I'm basically aiming for a megaturn with playing 3 crossroads + Horse Traders, drawing a billion cards and being able to buy 2 Duchies or a Province or something. In reality, what I need is, like you say, to consistently get to $5, and probably shouldn't be aiming for the megaturns.

I knew I'd play that game really badly when I chose the strategy on turn 1, which I thought was a very real reason not to go for it heh. Oh well, playing bad and being called on it is a good way to not play as bad next time I guess.

Well, I'm glad you did go for it - makes it a more interesting game even if you did make some mistakes. I definitely think it was a viable strategy, and that you could have won.

I'll try out that xsplit setting, I think I fiddled with resolution a little but I don't know where I ended up.
