Night Guard
$4 Action - Duration
Choose two: +1 Action, +1 Card, +1$, +1 Buy.
On the start of the next turn, get the other 2 bonuses.

(this was to be my submition to rinkworks' challenge, but I deemed it too wonky to implement in real game. Submited something else entirely)

Warning: This card may induce debates if people suffer from dementia.
Sometimes I can't even remember how many +$'s and +Buys I get from Pawns played THIS turn, let alone the next.

I'm not saying I dislike the card, in fact I think it's a cute Caravan-ish type, I just question whether the card should be simpler.

Other MAJOR problem: KC and TR say hello.
What if I had used all of the bonuses on this turn with KC?
Do I get nothing the next turn?

Well, for every play of the card (when KCed) you would get 2 bonuses, and other 2 next turn. So 6 bonuses now, 6 next turn.

This would probably need some kind of tokens to keep track.

I like the card.  Seems worth the headaches to me.

Maybe provide just three options?

Night Guard
$4 Action - Duration
Choose two: +2 Actions, +1 Card, +1$
On the start of the next turn, get the other bonus.

So if you play it as a Village this turn, it's a Lighthouse on the start of your next turn.
If you play it as a +1 Card +1$ Pawn, you start with a lessened Fishing Village (without the $) next turn.
If you play it as a Fishing Village this turn, it's a Caravan next turn.

I believe I've seen this exact card in this forum before. I may be wrong, and I'm too lazy to look for it right now, but it sounds very familiar.

My concept from a while ago was:

Queen - $6 - Action

Choose three: +1 Card, +1 Action, +$1, or +1 buy. (Your choices may be the same.)

(Also, maybe something about promoting Pawns to Queens... idk)

No, a non-drawing Crossroads leaves you with 4 cards in hand. +2 actions with no card gain or loss is equivalent to playing two Villages.

A while back, I suggested the exact same card as the original idea under the name Peons. There the main point of criticism was the tracking issue. The suggestion was a token for each of the 4 choices to make tracking easy.

I think that a better tracking mechanism would be to have an abundance of "Night Guard Tokens."
Then, when a Night Guard was played, you could put a token on top of each option that wasn't used. In the case of KC or TR, you could simply stack tokens to denote that next turn you'll be getting two or three of a given action. Then, at the start of your next turn, the stack on each +1 card choice would tell you how many cards you draw from that Night Guard.

Here's the thread where I proposed Peon. http://forum.dominionstrategy.com/index.php?topic=2158.msg33715#msg33715

It's in with a bunch of other cards, most of which really aren't that great. (Although I thought they were at the time.)

This still has an issue with TR/KC. What if you chose different options? Ughh, need pen and paper.

This is a duration'd Market. Offhand I'd say it should be $4 (see: Laboratory : Caravan)

Which is exactly how the OP prices it.
