I'll just leave this here:

www.makemeacocktail.com

You can put in what you have in your liquor/mixer collection, and then search their database of drinks for things you can make with those ingredients.

It's ... pretty awesome, actually

By the way, I just had alcohol for the first time in my life yesterday.

What was it? Beer? Scotch? What?

I'm not a big beer fan myself, it makes me feel a little ill. I generally like the stronger stuff, just not too much of it.
I've noticed that beer seems to make a lot of people sick. You know, besides the sickness one gets from alcohol itself. I can just imagine all that fluid sloshing around a tipsy person's empty stomach, making them feel even more sick. It also has gluten, in case there's anyone here who might be intolerant to that.

I only drink liquor. Rum seems to be my favourite liquor so far. See, my nutritionist has advised me to avoid gluten, among other things (like dairy, corn, and junk food in general). Do yourself a favour, and DO NOT follow such a diet unless you absolutely have to due to allergies or something. It's not worth it, and you'll get sick if you don't find good alternatives for everything you remove from your diet.

In recent times, I've had a few episodes where I drank more than I'm used to. Still, I've never thrown up or gotten a hangover from alcohol, and I don't plan to start.

So you drink Flor de cana?

I don't really drink except when I go to a party or something. I tend to just bring wine or liquor if I must BYOB.

Sorry I only informed you now, I've been...distracted...with pomegranate margaritas.  But pomegranates are a super fruit, right?  So it's fine, right?

What is plain regular old beer? There are tons of kinds of beer. I enjoy many of them. But not IPA's. I don't like those.

Maybe they are just really light beers but I always feel like when my friends talk about "good beer" they are these crazy microbrews and have these long names made with all kinda of fruit and whatnot. Don't get me wrong I enjoy all of these very much, I just also happen to like the more mainstream beers and think they have while different still a good flavor.

Am I the only one who thinks plain regular old beer tastes fantastic.

I think there's a huge overlap between craft beer fans and eurogame fans. I'm not saying we're all hipsters, but I am saying the person who prefers the sophistication of Dominion over the banality of Monopoly is the same person who prefers the sophistication of Jack's Abby over the banality of Budweiser.

Ok, maybe I am saying we're all hipsters.

I drink budweiser and corona on occasion.  Budweiser when I don't want to get drunker than I already am, Corona when I'm sober and don't want to get too drunk. Tecate when I want really cheap beer.

I'm kinda in the same boat as Mcmc (which probably has a lot more to do with our ages than anything else). I'm just fine drinking 'regular old beer', whether that's bud or coors or yuengling or what have you. I'll usually buy stuff a step up if I have the chance, but I'm not buying super double craft fruity IPAs ever, either.

I'm happy that I can still enjoy cheap beer (and cheap wine), and while I'm sure that I will soon get to a point where I can't / don't want to drink it anymore, I'm not in any real rush to get there.

A lot of the snobbery has to do with super hoppy IPAs that have nothing to do with flavor. But there is absolutely a difference between bud and a belgian tripel, for example. I usually look for Newcastle. Sweet, but definitely not like some Samuel Adams raspberry bullshit.

I say this all the time; one need not be drunk.  Just willing to hang out with people who might be.  It may be better named "ultra-blitz and pretty silly mafia".
