I don't mean to start the whole thread over but someone really pissed me off. You say hf and get the message "x" has muted your chat messages. I mean, wtf? I didn't insult you, I didn't do anything that could possibly cause you to do that wtf is your problem?

it's a debatable thing. While one can mute rude opponents, the action of muting does not necessarily imply that the opponent is rude. For one thing, maybe that guy just want to concentrate on the cards.

I'm going with timchen on this one. I don't think muting your opponent is automatically rude. It's a lack of politeness to not explain why he did it; but a lack of politeness only makes him neutral, not rude. Same as just not responding in general. He could just be someone who doesn't like to chat at all. He could be someone who just had a bunch of really bad experiences with people sending him nasty chats.

Although, to hijack back from the hijack I did earlier, I would say that the person wasn't being rude.

He didn't cuss you out or even say anything mean.

I could agree with lack of civility. A civil response would probably be to write back, "Hey, sorry, but I am just here to play the game. I don't have much time beyond that. It's nothing personal."

But, I'd say that it's a neutral response. He wasn't civil about it, but he wasn't rude about it either.
