My ambassadors louse to his hunting parties and philosopher stones. Does this make sense?

Hunting Party is fairly resistant to the clogging from Ambassador's attack, since it will skip over most coppers and estates.  By sending junk to his deck, it makes his Philo Stones much stronger.

Elaborating on my first post here:

Ambassador is good when you want to get  rid of all your junk and make an engine. It junks up the other guy's engine while trashing your own junk.

Here, you did not make much of an engine. 1 HP, 1 Adventurer, and 1 bazaar are not an engine when mixed with six silvers and a gold.

Likewise, Hunting Party is pretty resilient to having a little extra junk, since the HPs just skip over coppers and estates. Your Ambassadors merely powered up his Pstones.

He had something weird going on with HPs AND moats (which is a bit strange since HP works not-so-well with terminal draw), but I'm not surprised that HP+Pstone beat ambassador->big money.

It seems that he was pretty wise to not get money other than the coppers or vp other than estates or provinces to increase his chances of finding the philosopher stone. In the extreme case, if all he has is coppers, phil stones, estates, HP, and provinces, it seems that his HP would have even better odds. Do you think that the moat helps or hurts, overall? It seems to help him early to get enough $ to buy what he wants and there is a turn or two later where the moat gets him a lucky draw. Any thoughts?

I would have expected that silver works better than Moat, here. In the early-game, silver's probably worth more than +2 cards, and doesn't risk drawing HP dead. Late-game, Moat may cause some unfortunate reshuffles - though in this case, that never happened, so it worked out. Maybe is better when there's lots of junk around and you don't expect to be drawing your whole deck anyway? Not sure.
