Is there interest in Mafia V? I would love to mod a game. I would call it "Mafia V: Dispatches from the Penultimate Province"

I vote we keep it at 2 mafia games simultaneously at once.

I call Dibs on VI, a lynch-only reveal game (so if the Cop gets NKed...); if there is sufficient interest at the time.

I vote no more than 2 simultaneous games for any individuals.  If a 3rd game started up, I'd be cautiously interested, and I'd be 100% fine with a 3rd game that didn't involve anyone from M4, but I agree that seeing the core of O, RobZ, Galzria, J in EVERY GAME is crazy.

C.F., you want in, but were ALSO in III and IV. So no discrediting us because we got in the first round before you. You're just as addicted. ;)

I'm in both whenever they happen.

My personal limit is being involved in 2 games at once.  So if Mafia V and/or VI start up while III and IV are still both ongoing, I won't be joining.  But I'll definitely be reading them and will participate in any discussion threads.

Solution: always kill them first.  ;)

I'm in if it's a smaller group.  Mafia III and IV are both ridiculous.  Toooooo many pages.  Also, I think I'd prefer a format where we have at least some idea of which roles are around. :P

other than the awesome name, nothing is set in stone, so please express game set up preferences. Who would play in a role madness game? A bastard mod game? (I'm just gauging interest, don't worry) (And if I do a bastard game, I promise it will be labelled as such)

As you know, I am in for anything.

I had expected that games with MORE people would be better, because that's how it works IRL. On the forum, I'm not sure that's the case, and I sort of miss the more intimate feel of MI and MII. However, I would be loathe to turn away anybody interested in playing (especially because I might get shown the door at some point....). As for roles, whatever, but I do like knowing what could be in the game.

I'm interested in having games with Masons and multiple Mafia families.  I guess these things (especially the latter) only really work in bigger games... hum.

Might also be neat to have some bulletproof people.

I am really enjoying the closed setup!  I like knowi that ther could be an arsonist, or a CPR doctor, or a nk immune miller vig.

I would play role madness, or bastard mod

I am in favor of shorter days, even if it is stressful.

How do you have 2 respect with one post, which I have to assume is this post, which doesn't have any upvotes?
Oh, welcome to the forums!

I vote against more mafia here on the forums. Quite probably for more somewhere else, like quicktopics.

Edit: Oh right, this isn't the one post, because posts in this forum don't count.

I meant what I said about PMing everyone Jester as their role just to see what would happen.

Last weekend I played Mafia IRL with a bunch of friends, assigning roles using playing cards.  We'd already played a few games.  Several players were a bit miffed because they still hadn't gotten anything other than Vanilla Townie and they ended up swapping cards with each other, seeing they were all VT.  Of course that's not fair to other players, so we would redeal.  And the same thing would happen again.  We redealt something like 5 times.  Others started getting fed up so they finally settled down and accepted their role.  That game was particularly bad for the town.  Everyone who died came up VT.  They didn't realize until the very end that I had dealt everyone VT cards.

The best part was how confused one guy was after he'd gotten lynched.  It was night phase and he was looking around trying to find the Mafia (and other roles) as I called out to them.  It took him far longer than should have been necessary to realize I was just making it up.  ;D

This is an experiment that I think every group of regular mafia players runs eventually. I remember when we did it with my friends. I was unaware (only the moderator knew, of course), and I died during the gamr. The moderator told me after I was dead.

Eventually, there were 3 people left. They were utterly, utterly, furiously confused. They took forever to decide who to lynch. They just had no idea. When they found out, they were beside themselves with anger.

Anyway, this solidified in my mind that somehow, members of the mafia do give themselves away. Because in this game, with actually no mafia, the all-town group actually did have a noticeably harder time deciding who to kill.

My friends thought it was hilarious afterwards.  Were roles not being revealed?  At the very worst, if you know there are 2 Mafia, then the game is over when the town is size 4, right?

No, whenever I play IRL, we DO NOT reveal roles when people die. So when there are 3 left, all they know is there has to be 1 mafia and 2 non-mafia.

I'd say this way is actually much, much, much better. But for online play, it just makes things way too difficult for the town.
