I loved how for HP, EFHW cut out all the pregame and started a new thread.  I think every mafia game should do that!

I don't. I like keeping everything in the same spot and my biggest problem with it is that I don't get updates to my e-mail from the new thread until I post in it. So that can mean I don't notice that there is a new thread and don't prioritize getting online, or even if I do notice I miss out on a whole day's activity via e-mail, which when I am /on can make a huge difference in terms of how behind I am in a game... once I fall behind in a game I have a very hard time catching up.

That's fair enough, I hadn't really considered that.  I don't even get messages sent to my email because I'd rather keep everything mafia on this site and out of my email inbox, but that's certainly a good reason to dislike the new thread.

I will admit I have stopped posting in other parts of the forum because I was tired of getting updates from dominion related threads, rather than mafia related threads, but I couldn't play mafia with my schedule w/o those e-mail updates. I would also die of complete boredom at work... 10 hour days in which I only have 5-6 hours (or less on the weekend) of actual work to do.

Is your job a situation where you have to sit around and be, "on call" in case something comes up, or are you really just done at a point and know you won't have anything else to do?

Yep blocked. There is one test I am "on call" but mostly my workload is designed to allow for time to repeat any tests that might fail during my day. However, my tests are more predictable--or rather they aren't very predictable so our baseline for acceptability is extended so that I rarely have tests that fair and need to be repeated.
