Slightly less awesome than trashing two provinces with Trading Post, but:

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201207/27/game-20120727-093234-c923c4d4.html

— Your turn 23 —
You play a Walled Village.
... You draw a Copper and get +2 actions.
You play a Masquerade.
... You draw a Silver and a Copper.
... You pass a Copper to notawitch.
... You receive a Copper from Zyth.
... You trash a Province.
You play a Gold, a Silver, and 3 Coppers.
You buy a Province.
You return a Walled Village to the top of your deck.

Why even bother trashing the Province?

cherdano plays a Swindler.
... getting +$2.
... -Stef- turns up a Silver and trashes it.
... replacing -Stef-'s Silver with a Develop.
... ... -Stef- reveals a Trader to gain a Silver instead of a Develop.
... ... -Stef- gains a Silver.
... ... ... revealing a Watchtower.
... ... ... putting the Silver on the deck.

Why even bother trashing the Province?

Because I... um... am an idiot.

And thereby making this a candidate for Greatest Isotropic Moments, but for a different reason.

Doh.

(Thought process was: "OK, trash a copper.  Wait, I don't have to trash the copper, if I don't, I can buy the last province and win."  Somehow my brain never made it to "hey, moron, don't trash anything".)

my back-of-envelope calculations have the odds of this draw at .0113 percent...

from this deck:  [18 cards]
5 Grand Markets, 2 Farming Villages, 2 Fool's Golds, 1 Rabble, 1 Salvager, 2 Silvers, 1 Province

Turn 14 ...
glengarry buys a Province.
   glengarry buys a Province.
   glengarry buys a Province.
   glengarry buys an Estate.
   (glengarry reshuffles.)
(glengarry draws: 4 Provinces and an Estate.)

this was after to go up 25/12 with 1 provi left in the deck and my knowing oppo has with a fresh draw off this deck:
 [26 cards]
5 Grand Markets, 3 Farming Villages, 2 Rabbles, 1 Chapel, 1 City, 4 Silvers, 2 Provinces

with my opponent representing a max buy of 18, i felt pretty good.

anyhow, i'm pretty bad at estimating draw odds, but i think my 1/10000 math is pretty sound.
(5/18 x 4/17 x 3/16 x 2/15 x 1/14) = .0001136

of course, with the extra turn, he got there.

>:(

Well, you can fail even worse by picking up one Fool's Gold (or a Farming Village picking up a Fool's Gold). So there are two FGs, of which you can get one, and a FG can be drawn three ways (FG, or FV -> FG, or FV -> FV -> FG).
5/18 * 4/17 * 3/16 * 2/15 * 1/14 +
5/18 * 4/17 * 3/16 * 2/15 * 2/14 +
5/18 * 4/17 * 3/16 * 2/15 * 2/14 +
5/18 * 4/17 * 2/16 * 3/15 * 2/14 +
5/18 * 2/17 * 4/16 * 3/15 * 2/14 +
2/18 * 5/17 * 4/16 * 3/15 * 2/14

= ( 5 * (5*4*3*2*2) + (5*4*3*2*1) ) / (18*17*16*15*14)
= ( 5 * 3 * (5*4*3*2) ) / (18*17*16*15*14)
= 1 / 571.2

We'll ignore FV -> FG, because that makes the problem significantly complex and is a highly unlikely corner case.

We're also assuming that one point is sufficient for you to win. If you need a Duchy, you can add a GM to any of those, or change the FG to a Silver, putting us around 1/250. If you need to kill the Province pile, most hands with no Salvager or Rabble will suffice, so you're probably well below 1/100 (but the calculation gets complicated at that point).

So it's not quite on the scale of 10,000 to 1, but ouch. Your deck did pick an amusing way to screw you though.

Is it just me or can't this be calculated as binomial coefficient
(22)
(5 ) =  26334
So odds are 1/26336 ?

You're half-right. It can be done with combinatorics (my stats skills are too rusty, so I essentially did combinatorics via the long way above), but there are more than five dead cards. He loses in far more ways than by drawing all his green, although drawing all the green is the funniest.

A couple recent games.

Never buy provinces when you can get points with Goons
...in which I was always terribly behind, and he bought 6 provinces, but somehow pulled a 22-point comeback in the final turn, with exactly enough money and buys (well okay, I could have gotten a copper instead of the last estate).

Why doesn't this count as Champion Prize Fighter?
...in which, using a Menagerie / Loan deck, I manage to get all five prizes on turn 12. He had some pretty terrible luck with never drawing any of his three provinces to counter my tournaments. Of course, I think the reason it doesn't count is because of the Outpost, but that doesn't stop this from being pretty cool.

I've got a couple more funny moments.

First a mutual FAIL, and then a minor FAIL for me that gives way to a mega-WIN!

Failed a Spot Check
http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20120728-110553-65e9242f.html

cards in supply: Bank, Duchess, Highway, Jack of All Trades, Mining Village, Moneylender, Pirate Ship, Scout, Sea Hag, and Tunnel

...I go DoubleJack, he goes SingleJack, there's 1 Province left, Duchies are all gone, and the score is close...

   --- ajmiam's turn 16 ---
ajmiam plays a Copper and 3 Silvers.
   ajmiam buys an Estate.

   --- ycz6's turn 17 ---
   ycz6 plays 3 Coppers and a Silver.
   ycz6 buys an Estate.
/*at this point, ycz6 posts something in the chat to the effect of "oops" but I don't notice until later.*/

   --- ajmiam's turn 17 ---
ajmiam plays 2 Coppers, a Gold, and a Silver.
   ajmiam buys an Estate.

   --- ycz6's turn 18 ---
ycz6 plays a Jack of All Trades.
   ... gaining a Silver.
... discarding the top card of the deck.
   ... drawing 1 card.
   ycz6 plays a Silver.
   ycz6 plays a Gold.
   ycz6 buys a Tunnel.
   /*now, ycz6 posts "<_<" in the chat and I feel like a total idiot.*/

I bought a Tunnel next turn, but it was too late.  Later on I had $8 and couldn't buy the last Province or I'd lose by 1.  Final score: him 46, me 35.

Pro-tip:  Never play Dominion on autopilot, not even when playing DoubleJack.

The Correct Way to Recover From a Misclick
http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20120629-195701-be4406d0.html

cards in supply: Apprentice, Bishop, Bridge, Expand, King's Court, Sea Hag, Shanty Town, Spice Merchant, Steward, and Woodcutter

...

--- ajmiam's turn 9 ---
ajmiam plays an Apprentice.
... trashing a Silver.
... drawing 3 cards and getting +1 action.
ajmiam plays a Shanty Town.
... revealing a Copper, an Apprentice, a Shanty Town, a King's Court, and a Bridge.
... getting +2 actions.
ajmiam plays a King's Court.
... and plays a Bridge.
... ... getting +1 buy, +$1, and reducing all costs by $1.
... and plays the Bridge again.
... ... getting +1 buy, +$1, and reducing all costs by $1.
... and plays the Bridge a third time.
... ... getting +1 buy, +$1, and reducing all costs by $1.
ajmiam plays an Apprentice.
... trashing a Copper.
... getting +1 action.
ajmiam plays a Shanty Town.
... revealing nothing.
... drawing 2 cards and getting +2 actions.
ajmiam plays a Copper and a Silver.
ajmiam buys a King's Court.
ajmiam buys a Bishop. /*AGH!  Misclick!  Meant to buy another Bridge!*/
ajmiam buys a Bridge.
ajmiam buys a Shanty Town.
(ajmiam reshuffles.)
(ajmiam draws: 3 Bridges, a Spice Merchant, and a Copper.)

...

--- ajmiam's turn 10 ---
ajmiam plays a Spice Merchant.
... trashing a Copper.
... drawing 2 cards /*Apprentice and my misbegotten Bishop*/ and getting +1 action.
ajmiam plays an Apprentice.
... trashing a Bishop.
... drawing 4 cards /*Shanty Town, Silver, and 2 King's Courts*/ and getting +1 action.
*Insert the infamous Bridges over King's Courts full house combo here, giving me my 2nd ever Megaturn award on Councilroom.com*
To this, all my opponent had to say in the chat was "lol."

I mean, what are the odds that my Spice Merchant would immediately draw me my mistaken buy as well as the one card that could turn it into something useful?

Sadly this was on the 9th... But I can't resist, so here's a challenge to beat for next year ^_^

http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20120109-082209-c5d53456.html

#1 Biderman: 317 points (227 ▼, 7 Colonies, 5 Nobles, a Province, and 4 Estates); 24 turns
          opening: Wharf / nothing
#2 mayasquer: 49 points (3 Provinces, a Colony, 2 Duchies, 3 Nobles, 5 Estates, and 4 ▼); 25 turns

If not the most points, I'm willing to bet I got the most points in one turn.... 30 buys, 6 Goons in play, I buy 4 Colonies, 1 Provence, 1 Estate, and 18 Coppers for a total of 180+40+6+1=227 points in one turn. The sad thing about this turn is that I had $54 and there were 5 Colonies left :/

Next time empty provinces, you don't want to allow a possible mega-turn for no reason. Or three-pile. If you can end the game with a points lead, you should always end the game.

I've fallen behind.  My opponent got off to a fast start with turn 6 Gold -> turn 7 Province -> turn 8 Prize; I had my opening Chapel miss the reshuffle and couldn't seem to get above $5.  Now it's turn 13.  He has 4 of the prizes to my none and 4 provinces to my none.  At this point, I knew that my deck simply could not make up that difference.

But I knew that his deck could.

He was really pissed after that happened. Went on about how I didn't deserve to win.  Ah, the joys of Possession.

http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20120711-114038-f232438a.html

So it's a four player game, I've got King's Courts, Stables, and money galore, and one of my opponents keep having their king hold court in council rooms-- pretty awesome! But  the first player to buy early Possession just so happens to be to my right, and he keeps possessing my wonderful eight-card starting hands, using my deck to buy Provinces rather consistently while my sloppy seconds five-card hands can't really do that-- pretty terrible!

Except his mad rush for points and slight misunderstanding of Possession's effects results in this:

Quote
   --- minakichan's turn (possessed by Omy29) ---
   minakichan plays a King's Court.
   ... and plays a King's Court.
   ... ... and plays a Stables.
   ... ... ... discarding a Silver.
   ... ... ... drawing 3 cards and getting +1 action.
... ... and plays the Stables again.
   ... ... ... discarding a Copper.
   ... ... ... (minakichan reshuffles.)
   ... ... ... drawing 2 cards and getting +1 action.
... ... and plays the Stables a third time.
   ... ... ... discarding a Copper.
   ... ... ... (minakichan reshuffles.)
   ... ... ... drawing 1 card and getting +1 action.
... and plays the King's Court again.
   ... ... and plays a Bishop.
   ... ... ... getting +$1 and +1 ▼.
   ... ... ... minakichan trashes a Province and gets +4 ▼.
   ... ... ... TW2012 trashes nothing.
   ... ... ... Omy29 trashes a Copper.
   ... ... ... Badoosh trashes nothing.
... ... and plays the Bishop again.
   ... ... ... getting +$1 and +1 ▼.
   ... ... ... minakichan trashes a Copper.
   ... ... ... TW2012 trashes nothing.
   ... ... ... Omy29 trashes nothing.
   ... ... ... Badoosh trashes nothing.
... ... and plays the Bishop a third time.
   ... ... ... getting +$1 and +1 ▼.
   ... ... ... minakichan trashes a Gold and gets +3 ▼.
   ... ... ... Badoosh trashes nothing.
   ... ... ... TW2012 trashes nothing.
   ... ... ... Omy29 trashes nothing.
... and plays the King's Court a third time.
... ... but plays no action with it.
   minakichan plays 3 Silvers.
   minakichan buys a Province.
   ... Omy29 gains the Province.
   (minakichan reshuffles.)
(minakichan draws: a Stables, 3 Silvers, and a Bishop.)
minakichan discards the "trashed" cards (a Gold, a Copper, and a Province).

You might see the problem here, but my unfortunate opponent didn't: Yup, Possession says nothing about VP and they therefore all go to the possessed player. In this Possessed turn, he gains a 6-point Province but gives me 10 VP. This happened several times throughout the entire game-- even with some King's Courted Possessions-- and he usually Bishopped the biggest cards for the biggest number of points.

I dropped a few hints, and I know I probably should have explained the situation, but... it was kind of glorious for me and I wanted to see how far it could go (sorry, opponent!).

I think the best moment in the game is around turn 13 though-- another opponent gets a similar idea and plays King's Courts Possession, giving the last opponent (Badoosh) 29 VP without having to lift a finger. Unfortunately, it seems that Badoosh, as my only opponent who likely truly understood Possession, saw how I was getting unfair amounts of free VP and resigned just beforehand, missing out on this huge VP spike completely-- ouch!

Check this one out bro.  I have beaten your challenge.
http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20120808-182540-e493c5c2.html

This is the extremely rare double mega: all Colonies and Provinces in one turn.  Also picked up all 8 Duchies, a Nobles, and an Estate.  7 Goons in play.

8(10) + 8(6) + 8(3) + 1(2) + 1(1) + 26(7) = 337 points in one turn (377 total).

(Opponent is a Level 21 who was trying.  No nans.)

Wow, your opponent draws about as horribly as a Chapel deck possibly could. Although in his position, I Chapel 3 Coppers on Turn 3. Menagerie does you no good whatsoever if you don't get rid of some trash.

So I got soundly smashed here but given where I was in the game, this was entertaining.

— Wingnut's turn 29 —
Wingnut plays a Noble Brigand.
... getting +$1.
... (ghe.tom reshuffles.)
... ghe.tom reveals and discards an Apprentice and a Copper.
Wingnut plays a Silver and 2 Coppers.
Wingnut buys a Duchy.
(Wingnut draws: 5 Curses.)

Yes, that's right, 5 Curses drawn together.

We should have a thread for those "5 of one card" hands. I got 5 Conspirators today. Didn't someone post a pic of 5 Rabbles once?

Someone mentioned 5 Rabbles in this thread somewhere. I've created a thread for 5 Governors in the Game Reports section. (I won that game.)

5 Curses is hilarious though. I once drew 4 Curses with a Throne Room, biggest facepalm moment I ever had on Isotropic.

I seldom get a 5 copper hand, as early as the first or second turn!

When I decide to pop in here with a fun 5-card hand I just got, I see that I'm not the only one. I think my hand was more playable than most of the others in this thread.

 — Lekkit's turn 20 —
   Lekkit plays an Adventurer.
   ... (Lekkit reshuffles.)
   ... revealing a Province, a Hoard, and a Silver.
   ... discarding the Province.
... putting the Silver and the Hoard into the hand.
Lekkit plays 2 Silvers and 2 Coppers.
   Lekkit plays a Hoard.
   Lekkit plays a Hoard.
   Lekkit buys a Province.
   ... gaining a Gold.
   ... gaining a Gold.
   (Lekkit draws: 5 Golds.)

As a side note: this was my last turn, so I didn't get to play my fun hand. And also, when the game ended, I had 7 Golds in my deck.

I think you're misusing the word "seldom" here?

It's atypical but not incorrect. Less uncommon in British English.

I was quite please with my turn 16 at http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201205/04/game-20120504-104120-5339cea1.html.

Essentially the previous turn I had 0 cards in my deck and bought an inn, shuffling 3 Grand Market's, 8 Peddler's, 6 Worker's Village and a Treasury into my deck, and then put 2 Treasuries back on top.

link added in, I won this game FYI (totally due to scout, not because I had amazing YW/Tunnel luck)

Using the intricate, complex, Scout-Scheme (draw scout)-Scout strategy, I successfully get a 9 card hand using scout only as drawing power.

sshhuuunnnn the non-believers

   — O's turn 22 —
   O plays a Scout.
   ... getting +1 action.
   ... (O reshuffles.)
... O reveals 2 Provinces, a Scout, and an Estate.
... putting the 2 Provinces and the Estate into the hand.
... putting 1 card back on the deck.
   O plays a Scheme.
... drawing 1 card and getting +1 action.
   O plays a Scout.
   ... getting +1 action.
   ... O reveals a Tunnel, a Curse, a Province, and an Estate.
... putting the Tunnel, the Province, and the Estate into the hand.
... putting 1 card back on the deck.
   O plays a Gold.
   O buys an Estate.
O puts a Scout back on the deck.
(O draws: a Gold, a Duchy, a Scout, a Curse, and an Estate.)
