http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201204/16/game-20120416-211329-6895153f.html

Turn I bought a KC: 4
First turn I got to play a KC (with an action): 18

I think Noble Brigand and Rabble WERE factors but if you look at that turn span, not particularly.

(Also turn 16 is just me losing my temper and wanting to hurt his deck at any cost. Although afterward I realized NB might have been a better choice for that)

This reminds me of something that happend to my opponent a while ago, except he had four KC's instead of two and he only played KC once- on a Worker's Village.

Well, KC-WV is still better than KC-Outpost. :)

Or KC Library or KC Watchtower or KC Tactician.

Strictly speaking, KC-Library is better than Library. One card better.

How?
You play the KC, thus having one fewer card in your hand. Library draws up to 7, so you draw one more card than if you hadn't played the KC

This. And of course, it goes without saying that KC-KC-Library is quite a bit more than one card better, assuming there are other actions in your deck.

But if you didn't have the KC, you would already have the next card in your deck instead, so it wouldn't really make a difference...

If you only have one action left, it is better to play the KC than not, which I guess is probably the point being made, but it isn't better than not having it.  If you have extra actions, it is almost certainly better to play the Library on it's own and hope you draw something better to use the KC on.

It could make a difference depending on the next card, since Library can set aside unwanted Action cards, e.g. if the next card was Moat, you'd rather have the KC in hand.
