There is not always an obvious reason for everything. Sometimes scum just picks someone to kill.
Why are you discouraging looking for reasons? Or, are you making commentary on LaLight?

I’m not trying to discourage, just expressing an earnestly held opinion that night kill analysis is mostly a waste of time. But people can look for whatever they want!

I am also reading reactions to Galz's death and so far joth's is the scummiest, but no one backs me up on this either

What’s scummy about my reaction? That I’m not weeping and gnashing my teeth? It’s just a game. It’s a bummer of a flip but saying that doesn’t help anything.

I'm not saying what your reaction should be, I'm saying that what we've got does not really feel sincere and also looks a bit like a try to townslip

For what it’s worth, this was literally my exact reaction to LL’s first post of the day:

noooo what the hell how

It's not even slightly a waste of time. It's the only time scum is forced to reveal some of their thought process in public.

To me I think it usually feels like divination that people can read whatever they want into and no one ever gets any confirmation as to whether they were right until they get access to the scumchat postgame.

But I’m just speaking for myself. If anyone thinks they’ve drawn a solid conclusion this time feel free to share. Genuinely wasn’t trying to shut down any discussion.

I have drunkenly skimmed the messages for the last few pages so forgive me if I missed something essential but I have to say this: EFHW is overwhelmingly likely to be telling the truth, no? No counter claiim, it could get dicey for her eventually, Galz dying instead seems like clear mafia decision to kill a strong town player and leave alive a PR in order to mislead us… I would say I’m 80/20 on this being legit. If we had newbies in this game I would understand them being skeptical, but people who’ve played 20+ games on this forum should know this sort of claim is true in vast majority of cases right?

The fact that EFHW is alive is insane. Like to the point that something almost had of happened in the Galz hood that led to killin galz because that is just nuts.

The only alternative is that EFHW is skum and they just got suppper lucky shooting galz.

noooo what the hell how

what do you mean “how?”

how did they know galz is a cop

Why would you assume they knew as opposed to just getting lucky?

because why else would they kill Galz, he wasn't megatownie D1. I'd expect them to kill EFHW or you. for that matter, but Galz was a weird choice

1. Rolestopper could be in play.
2. EFHW could be apart of a hood and they want to gain their trust.
All the reasons really.

Why are pretending you haven't played before?

I'm really confused. Are you confused about why they killed Galz or not?

It seems like you go from "The fact that EFHW is alive is insane" and proposing that only some unknowable neighborhood interaction explains the Galz kill, to 3 minutes later condescendingly explaining to LL all the reasonable reasons why they might have killed someone else.

by "explaining to LL all the reasonable reasons" you are in fact referring to the reason I had already mentioned (as you pointed out)... and exactly 1 other one right? Those are "all the reasonable reasons"?

You would have preferred we exiled the cop?

We didn't know he was a cop...
Also, was not the point I was making.
But also yes, in non-hindsight land, anyone except scola would of been a better exile.

Truly could not disagree with this more. It would have been nice to get lucky and hit scum, but otherwise that was the absolute best possible outcome.

absolutely incorrect, but whatever. no point in arguing over it. just gonna have to agree to disagree on this one.

Why is it given that one of scum is a neighbor. Like I said it is unlike galz to tell his neighbor he has a pr on day 1

I don’t think Galz would have told anyone anything, but if the neighbor was a baddie, there is all manner of interaction that could have happened to make him worth whacking (or suspicion, scumslip, etc). It’s not a given that the neighbor is a baddie, but that is one of the only scum mods that was worth taking and either kind of baddie could choose it.

Ppe:5 LaLi, gonna keep thinking about Joth. I don’t think you’re out in left field. The Awaclus vote for Swowl is also interesting.

I hope all the US folks are doing okay with all things hurricane. The flooding looks awful

If the neighbor is a baddie they chose that modification only to immediately eliminate their neighbor. That means they took the mod only to remove the neighborhood from town. Which seems like a bad move to me. I think it’s more likely galz is a strong player they decided to remove.

I agree with this overall mindset. Specifically, combining the fact that I do not believe Galz would claim to someone in town, and this logic of "why would skum choose that role to just burn that bridge".

Mostly I was looking for someone who didn't get much attention,  figuring that scum would pick that person to do the nk. Someone asked if there were other contenders, and I thought I had answered but can't find it now. I prefer not to elaborate any further on my thought process.

OK so I *think* I am in the EFHW is town camp here. But just to point this out...
If efhw was roleblocker - or I guess if mafia had roleblocker at all - Tracker would be a safe fake claim. They could just roleblock the target, and then efhw could claim no result. The only risk would be a counter claim, which in this game, mafia could be aware the odds are low of that being a potential.
