RMM61 – Wouldn’t You Like to Know? Mafia

This is a semi-open setup created by Swowl and MCMC. Specifics of the game will be revealed in the following post. We will be posting the details shortly, but this is primarily an RMM with a Flip Delay concept.

The Rules:

The Golden Rule:
This is a game. Everyone who signs up to play must be considerate of each other, never get personal, and focus on having fun. Once the game starts, having signed up is a commitment: inactivity is just as inconsiderate as rude comments.

The Standard Rules:
1. No communication between players outside of the game thread or shared chats at any time. This includes passing references, jokes, or cases in other games or threads, whether in context or not.
2. If the game thread is locked, do not post. If you are unsure if something is locked, ask the mod by PM.
3. Direct or verbatim quoting of mod-provided information is strictly forbidden. Paraphrasing is okay.
4. Actions with instructions that do not specify a game state will be resolved in the order they are received.
5. All night actions must be submitted within 36 hours of day ending.
6. Players must post once every 24 hours.
7. Do not edit or delete posts, ever. If you need to clarify or correct something, post again.
8. Invisible text, font size less than 10, and spoiler tags are not allowed.
9. Cryptography is not allowed.
10. The time between an exile being reached and a flip being provided is called twilight. All players may continue posting during this time, including the exiled player.
11. Dead players may not post in thread or any private chat. An exiled player is not "dead" until a flip has been provided.
12. Personal multimedia, such as video or audio recordings, are not allowed in the game thread.

The Voting Rules:
1. Votes should be in this format: Vote: Playername. Unambiguous nicknames are acceptable, or any string that uniquely identifies a user. Note that the point of voting is, in fact, unambiguity, and attempting to make it unclear to other players (or, of course, mods) which user you are voting for is very ill-advised.
2. Unvotes should be in this format: Unvote or Unvote: Playername.
3. Unvotes are not required if changing your vote from one player to another.
4. You may vote No Exile.
5. Exiles occur when a simple majority (rounded up) of living players is reached. Once reached, an exile cannot be undone.
6. If a majority is not reached by end of day, the player with the most votes will be exiled. 

The Rest:
1. Bold Brown or ???  text are reserved for the Mods. Players may not use it.
2. If you have an issue or problem with the game, please PM the Mod. Do not post complaints in the game thread.
3. Mods make mistakes - please point them out gently. If they can be corrected, they will. If irreversible, they will stand as final to be commiserated over after the game.
4. If a mod error disadvantages one faction greatly, the game may be called off.
5. Ask all questions and make all requests directly to the Mod via PM. Questions deemed as "universal" (defined as questions for which the answers should be available to all players) will be requested to be re-posted in the Game Thread and answered there.
6. Players may request prods on other players if they have not posted in 24 hours. Players are subject to replacement or modkill after one prod.
7. All rule violations will be dealt with according to their severity, as determined by the mod.
8. If the game goes on for 3 days and 3 nights without an exile or nightkill, town wins.

Deadlines:
1. Days will last five IRL days.
2. Nights will last 48 hours.

I’m with faust here. If this isn’t an RMM, I would like to see more of the setup before committing. If it IS RMM though I’ll probably sit out on this one.

Set Up Information:
This is a Semi Open RMM  for 14 players.

Exile Mechanics:
This game will use standard exile mechanics. Simple majority will end the day. No Exile is an allowed vote. If the day ends prior to a majority vote, the player with the most votes will be the exile. If there is a tie, I will assign both of my cats to one player and throw a yarn ball – whoever’s cat gets to the ball last will be the exile. If there is a 3 way tie, my dogs will be involved. If there is more than a 3 way tie, I will rent donkeys. (ties are randomized).

Delayed Flip Mechanic:
When a player would normally be flipped over and reveal their alignment and role, instead they will show up with no information in grey text. One full cycle after the point in which the player is removed from the game, they will be revealed in full.
   Example – Player X is exiled Day 1. They will be flipped without information at the end of day. Player X will then be flipped in full after the conclusion of Day 2.
   Example – Player X is killed during Night 1. They will be flipped without information at the start of Day 2. At the beginning of Day 3, they will be flipped in full.

Other Fun Shit:
1.   While this is an RMM, not all players in the game are guaranteed to have a PR.
2.   There is at least one third party player in play.
3.   All PRs in this game are “X-shot”. The number of shots may or may not vary from role to role, but all are X-shot.

Guaranteed Roles:
The following Power Roles are guaranteed to be in the game.

1-Shot Revealer

Once, at any point in the game, you may target a player who has been killed by posting in your Private Chat – “Reveal: Player X”. This action cannot be blocked and will resolve immediately upon a MOD seeing the command.

You win when all Mafia are dead and at least one town-aligned player is alive, or nothing can stop this from happening.

1-Shot Concealer

Once, at any point in the game, you may target a player that has been killed but whose role has not yet revealed by posting in your Private Chat  “Conceal: Player X”. That player’s role will never be revealed. You will learn their role at the time their role would normally be revealed.

You win when all Non-Mafia Players are dead, or nothing can prevent that from happening.

Also, you might want to change scum's win con to having a majority, because otherwise game states of X town vs X scum are just coinflips. I know delayed flips makes this more uncertain but it can still happen.

Gonna skip this one.

Not a massive fan of delayed reveals, and haven’t played in awhile. Will wait for next normal game.

Is it correct that neither the town nor the mafia win condition interacts with the (guaranteed to exist) third party? That pretty severely limits what the third party could be.

Also /out, the delayed flip mechanic doesn't sound fun to me.

Apologies! The delay sounds like an exercise in frustration mostly because scum knows way more than town with every exile. But I am totally sold on the tie breaking cats, dog, and donkeys
