Does faust backing my towniness have any weight for you?
Woah there, don't make more out of it than it is.
I hear you, but every word of the question pointed at Didds was intentional

I’m going to let everyone get here first but then I’ll vote no exile

Please at least try to use this day for scumhunting.

Why not just do and facilitate scumhunting instead of arguing about no exile?

Cuzz - can you make a case on someone?

I will hopefully have time this weekend to dive deeper on rereading some folks, but shraeye still seems like a fine option to me for the same reasons as yesterday. Didds and Jimmmmm are slipping under my radar. scola's #791 rubs me the wrong way too. I don't see any reason to declare "leaning" to place a vote on joth here. Someone who expects the rest of us to treat them like an IC shouldn't be so stingy with their vote.

Cuzz, why you never here?

Mostly a total lack of recollection of how much time and energy this game takes to play without being useless and a grossly optimistic overestimate of my availability. Early game is always overwhelming esp with so many people new to me but I am working on it.

By the way I am definitely not crazy about the no exile plan. Maybe I'm missing something but the arguments in favor of no exile which game out the next few days seem to totally neglect that there's a nonzero chance of exiling scum if we do exile and a zero chance if we don't.

Not sure I follow why more VTs and bombs here?
Because we're probably less likely to exile PRs. That isn't exactly foolproof though, and sometimes we hopefully exile scum which doesn't change town's ratio of PRs to VTs/bombs, which is why it probably roughly speaking does that instead of just doing that.

So wouldn't that be the opposite then, if less likely to exile PRs, then there'd be fewer VTs?

Yes, every time we exile. Hence if we no exile, there will be more VTs.

Actually to that point - NO exile people - why did you feel the need to bring this up at the beginning of the day. You know it would cost us real convo. Why did you not wait some period of time before bringing it up?
I said it as soon as it crossed my mind. There was no gaming out when to best bring it up.

I do think that it would be ideal to end the Day early for timing purposes. And we've already reached a point where I would like that to happen, so I don't think there would have been an advantage in delaying the discussion. These things always take time.

This has been explained in detail before, but the essence is that we don't lose an exile if we don't exile today (barring unexpected Night outcomes).

Here's a confirmed example of it working:

Anyway Awaclus voted me, which threw me like, gah I'm asking these questions for a reason. So I lost it my head a bit and just went ahead with stuff anyway.

Because the weekend will be dead because life and then suddenly we are near deadline which is not convenient for people. If we can no-exile today then our days will be during the week when we all tend to be more active.

OK I towned you yesterday, but this is just lazy. I literally posted this on day 1.

Which post of yours are you referring to?

This was a response to faust's claim that "it's clear that he has opinions". I thought that faust was talking about shraeye's game in general, and was trying to identify what opinions he was referring to. Turns out he was literally just talking about his "4th top scumread" joke.

K well that’s an annoying nk.

That's less self-evident than I think you're implying

? I had robz as town pretty hard and it puts up the situation where it makes me want to exile you more for the wagon info if your skum.

Did you mean Robz or mcmc here?

That's confirmation of you having an impact on someone else's scumhunting, which is not quite the same.

Naked votes can certainly be used to scumhunt, and that might be true of yours there, but it is hard for anyone else to say "that vote was an example of hunting".

Why do you think this?

For the record, this is just my usual style of play; I don't like to vote, especially when I don't know the vote count and figured an official one was coming soon. If anything I'm more likely to vote as scum (though scumapasta would know that and so might be more hesitant)

Now we've had a count, so

vote: joth

got it. I think what confused me is that you seemed against no exile, but then your arguments were more in support of no exile.

Unless I still don't got it.

I posted an explanation why no exile would be good in a vanilla game, to demonstrate that the benefits are small in the early game. I am against no exile because we don't know if any of our PRs are going to change that math.

Vote: scola

This is kind of an interesting vote... and a bad vote.

It is interesting because there are 10 alive and we have (if I am correct) 4 people that have explicitly stated they are not exiling pasta today. Then there is Pasta. That is 5 people. So the vote is useless. The best you can hope for is to sway the totality of the rest of the group and then you get a coin flip.

This is a bad vote because pasta is claimed PR.

What are you hoping to do with this here? How are you planning to sway the field to go for pasta?
