Mods, trash this if it shouldn't be here.

I'm mostly just looking for confirmation.  I bought a copy of Renaissance from Amazon but it came incorrect.  There were 3 bundles of cards in the box, but 2 of them are the same bundle.  Unfortunately I noticed it after I started sleeving them.

I reached out to Rio Grande Games yesterday but haven't heard back yet.  Is this something they would handle or should I just unsleeve the 100 or so cards and send it back to Amazon?

Hopefully it is a true RIo Grande set and not a knockoff. I just don't trust Amazon with some purchases because of knock offs that I and others have received from them.

How do you know if its a knock-off?

My copy of Renaissance had three different bundles.  However a different print run may have been collated such that two bundles could be the same.  You will have to check to see what you after you have sorted them.

In addition to the mats, coins, and cubes, you should have these cards —

A) 1 each of the following (Artifacts and Projects):

Flag
Horn
Key
Lantern
Treasure Chest

Academy
Barracks
Canal
Capitalism
Cathedral
Citadel
City Gate
Crop Rotation
Exploration

B) 25 different randomizers -- backs are different than the regular kingdom cards.

How do you know if its a knock-off?

It's unlikely that Amazon is selling many knock-offs these days. It was a thing that came up some years ago, Chinese knock-offs, and you could spot the path the boxes took to be clear that they were fakes. And Amazon tried to address it and there haven't been complaints for a while now. So I mean I would not worry about that. The issue with a knock-off anyway is going to be inferior cards, not having the wrong ones.

I'm sure it's just a routine mistake. Of course RGG will send you whatever you're missing.

I haven't looked in the third bundle yet, but the bundle I sleeved had Border Guard exposed, and all the cards in order down to Lackeys, I think.  The second bundle did as well; they appeared to be all the same cards.

Everything else is there; mats, coins, and project cubes.  It really does look like whoever packed it (assuming its packed by a person and not a machine) grabbed 2 of the same bundle instead of 1 of each. 

The one odd thing is that 5 of the 6 mats were punched out and sitting in almost a nice stack with the coins and such on the tray.  I know its not uncommon for the mats to break loose during shipping but it looked like they were stacked by hand.

I'll wait and see what RGG responds with.  Thanks for the insight.

Many thanks to Rio Grande Game and Jay T.  Today I received the missing card pack.

It also came with Farm from Intrigue in a separate, individual pack?  Weirdly, that pack only has 10 cards + randomizer and not the 12 I would expect.  I don't currently have Intrigue so I'm not specifically concerned about it, but should I notify RG that I received it?  ...that it had the wrong number of cards? 

Or did I miss a rule change about kingdom victory cards (I checked the Wiki and it still says 12 cards for 3+ players)?

No rules change, just a mistake.
