Procession vs BoM vs Duration

With band of misf. i can bypass the restriction of playing durations. But how goes this?

I play procession on bom, emulating i.e. lighthouse. So i have to play bom a second time, isnt it? Choosing caravan. Now
what happens after trasing bom? Would the durations be discarded that turn and i wont get the future turn effects? Even the protection from lighthouse against attacks?

BoM on Lighthouse doesn’t give you any attack protection, because the Lighthouse never enters play and isn’t in play. Normally BoM would stay in play for tracking purposes, but it doesn’t give you protection. So with Procession everything works the same; you just don’t have a physical reminder/tracking for the next turn effect that you get. You still get the effect next turn like normal.

Caveat: isn't that true for 1st Editition only? 2nd Edition Lighthouse has "until then" on play effect

Yeah, it depends whether you have the old or the new Lighthouse. The new Lighthouse was published last year with the 2nd Edition of Seaside.

It also depends whether you have the old or the new Band of Misfits! The new BoM, which was published in 2019, doesn't emulate the Lighthouse. It just plays the Lighthouse from the supply. Image above.

If you have the new BoM...

Old Lighthouse - "while this is in play"
If you play BoM on Lighthouse, BoM stays in play. But it doesn't protect you. The Lighthouse protects you if it's in play, but it's not (it stays in the supply); only the BoM is in play.
Playing Procession on BoM on Lighthouse doesn't make a difference. BoM is of course in the trash, but wouldn't protect you anyway.

New Lighthouse
If you play BoM on Lighthouse, BoM stays in play. Lighthouse protects you because you played it (it doesn't have to be in play to protect you). It makes no difference where the BoM is. So in this case too, it doesn't matter if you trashed the BoM with Procession.

With both versions of Lighthouse, you always get the next-turn effects. Again it doesn't matter whether BoM was trashed or not.

Do you want to know how it would be with old BoM?

Huh, I missed that Lighthouse got new wording. But makes sense as basically all "while this is in play" stuff did. So yeah, then Lighthouse works just like any other Duration; the effect lasts even if it isn't in play, you just don't have a reminder for next turn.

The overall key here is that Durations have never needed to be in play in order to give you the "next turn" effect. Procession used to be able to play/trash Durations, and there have always been ways to remove cards from play, including Durations. Removing a Duration from play has no effect on what it does at the start of next turn.
