Can the Bane pile be chosen for a Trait?

Attaching the Trait and putting out a Bane are both consequences of dealing out the 10+ cards to play with, so I feel like, you can do them in either order. No-one specifically gets to decide the order though, since there's no turn order yet, so someone might want me to decide for them. IRL, do you what you want, or yes, the Bane can have a Trait. Online, it goes in whatever order they put it, they probably asked but I forget what I said.
