Create a set of 10 kingdom cards based on movie/cartoon/show

I start with Pocahontas:

-Governor (Radcliffe)
-Native village (Obviously
-Workshop (I guess there's one in Jamestown)
-Woodcutter
-Haven (In London)
-Explorer (John Smith)
-Farmland (Indians' cornfields)
-Workers village (Jamestown)
-Rabble (People in Jamestown)
-Lookout
-Colonies/Plats.

Actually looks like a pretty balanced set: villages, drawers, trashers. Although, in this case it would make more sense that Explorer would give you a Platinum if you revealed a Colony.

"Lost"

Island (as in, the island)
Shanty Town (the Others' fake village)
Secret Chamber (the Hatch)
Pirate Ship (the Black Rock)
Torturer (Sayid)
Goons (the Freighter mercenaries)
Garden (Sun's Garden)
Hunting Party (Jack, Locke, Kate, Sawyer)
Monument (the Statue of Tawaret)
Lighthouse (Jacob's lighthouse)

Of course, there are a million others you could use: Warehouse (Jacob's cabin), Thief (Sawyer), Spy (Juliet), Swindler (Anthony Cooper), a bunch of the villages like Nomad Camp, Border Village, Walled Village...

Battlestar Galactica (2003 version if it matters), will try not to spoil too much

Ambassador (series starts off with humans sending an Ambassador every year, but the Cylons don't send one)
Saboteur (the Cylons and sometimes the humans as well)
Spy (again those pesky Cylons)
Bridge (they call this the CIC on BSG, but you get the drift)
Ghost Ship (the Olympic Carrier)
Watchtower ("all along the ... ")
Scheme (there's a lot of that going on)
Navigator (I guess this is Lt. Gaeta's job?)
Smugglers (gotta have 'em)
Black Market (where do you think they get all the booze?)

Once upon a time, there was a Stable boy named Wesley, who was in love with Buttercup. He set out to make his fortune, when he was beset upon by a Pirate Ship. Buttercup swore to never love again.

Alas, Prince Humperdinck took a shine to Buttercup and offered to make her his Princess. She agreed, of course; it's the freakin' prince, after all, but her heart wasn't in it. Little did she know that she would be a Pawn in his Scheme to wage war with a neighboring kingdom. She was kidnapped by a Sicilian, a Spaniard, and a giant.

To their surprise, they were being followed by the Man in Black, who defeated them one by one. Thinking that he was just another scoundrel, Buttercup shoved him down a hill, only to learn that the Man in Black was none other than Wesley, who donned the Masquerade of the Dread Pirate Roberts.

Wesley and Buttercup were surrounded by Humperdinck's men who were ready to strike. Not wanting to lose Wesley once more, Buttercup surrendered and agreed to marry Humperdinck. Wesley was betrayed by the six-fingered man and hidden away to be at the mercy of an albino Torturer.

The Spaniard and the giant felt bad for their roles in Buttercup's capture and Wesley's almost-death. They brought his almost-corpse to the home of an Alchemist and some woman who claims she's not a Witch; she's his wife. He was able to bring Wesley back to life (technically, True Love did that).

Together, Wesley, the Spaniard, and the giant assaulted the castle while the Bishop wed Humperdinck and Buttercup in holy mawwiage—though it didn't count since she didn't say, "I do." Humperdinck was promptly defeated, the heroes left the castle, and Wesley and Buttercup lived happily ever after.

The end.

Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot that Princess is not technically a Kingdom card. I don't want to change the story, so if the Princess bugs you, imagine the story expounding a bit more on the wedding Chapel.

Witch (Melisandre)
Nobles
Scheme
Minion

Parks & Recreation

Festival - For the Harvest Festival, Pawnee's greatest annual celebration, curse-free since 2010
Library - For those punk-ass book jockeys who we despise with every ounce of our being
Council Room - For the *lit-erally* dozens of committees working tirelessly around the clock to make Pawnee the greatest town in America (99.7% of committees assembled by Leslie Knope)
Adventurer - For the great Wamapoke Indians, who settled in Pawnee and briefly scraped by heroically despite an utter lack of useful resources. Their genocide at the hands of Pawnee's founders remains the town's 4th most significant tragedy even after all these years.
Feast - For rugged Libertarian Ron Swanson, king of the Four Horse-Meals of the Egg-Pork-Alypse and regular threat to all of the bacon and eggs that you have
Courtyard - For the ethical queries of gifted wine and the pro-bono remedies of renowned local nurse Ann Perkins
University - For the community college education of young Andy Dwyer, leader of Pawnee's #1 90's college-radio friendly rock band Mouse Rat (formerly Nothing Rhymes With Orange, formerly Everything Rhymes With Orange, formerly Nothing Rhymes With Blorange, formerly Muscle Confusion, formerly Angel Snack, formerly Department of Homeland Obscurity, formerly Scrotation Marks, formerly Just The Tip, formerly Worm Police, formerly Scare Crow Boat)
Menagerie - For the Pawnee Zoo. LONG LIVE FAIRWAY FRANK
Bureaucrat - For Leslie Knope, without whom Pawnee would likely fall prey to yet another predatory raccoon takeover
Trusty Steed - A cheat, perhaps, but intended to honor Li'l Sebastian, the most adorable miniature horse / college graduate in Pawnee's history and a national treasure. May he forever Rest in Peace.

For Parks and Rec, how can you justify using Festival via the Harvest Festival, yet not use Harvest?! And also, Andy's band has also been named Foreskin and then Threeskin after one of the 4 dropped out. :D

I thought about Harvest, but it seemed a little redundant :). And oh man, Andy's band names... I was being conservative in listing them, there are soooooo many more

The Godfather
Bishop - "Do you renounce Satan… and all his works… and all his pomps?"
Bureaucrat - "I need, Don Corleone, all of those politicians that you carry around in your pocket, like so many nickels and dimes."
City - "I wanna hit New York some time this month."
Council Room - "Don Barzini, I want to thank you for helping me organize this -- meeting here today. And also the other heads of the Five Families…"
Feast - "You never know, you might have to cook for 20 guys some day."
Inn - "The casino -- the hotel. The Corleone Family wants to buy you out."
Peddler - "Then we are agreed. The traffic in drugs will permitted, but controlled."
Scheme - "They want to arrange a meeting between me and Barzini. On Tessio's ground, where I'll be safe."
Throne Room - Don Corleone's office
Torturer - "Luca Brasi held a gun to his head, and my father assured him that either his brains or his signature would be on the contract."

The Godfather Part II
Conspirator - "I've loved baseball ever since Arnold Rothstein fixed the World Series in 1919."
Festival - Religious festa in the streets the day Vito assassinates Don Fanucci
Goons - "Michael Corleone says 'hello' "
Haggler - "I'm short on money right now. I've been out of work -- so just give me a little time. You understand, don't you?"
Harem - "It's okay. You're very lucky -- my brother Fredo operates this place, he was called before anyone."
Island - Cuba
Margrave - similar enough to the caporegimes; "You were around the old timers -- and meeting up on how the family should be organized. How they based them on the old Roman legions and called them regimes -- the capos and the soldiers. And it worked."
Militia - "It occurred to me. The soldiers are paid to fight -- the rebels aren't." "What does that tell you?" "They can win."
Thief - "A friend of mine has a nice rug. Maybe your wife would like it." "Sure, she would. But who has the money for a rug?"
Village - "The Godfather was born Vito Andolini in the town of Corleone in Sicily."

DOCTOR WHO!

Tactician -- The Doctor (clearly needs to be a Duration card of some sort, this seems best)
Tunnel -- The Time Vortex
Warehouse -- The TARDIS (also considered Expand or Library, but this card goes so well with Tunnel, which seems appropriate)
Militia -- UNIT
Smithy -- Sarah Jane Smith
Jack of All Trades -- Captain Jack Harkness
Nobles -- The Time Lords
Ironworks -- Cybermen
Golem -- Sontarans (in their first appearance Harry thinks they are Golems)
Spice Merchant -- Daleks (because they are salt & pepper shakers that exterminate/trash things)

I was considering doing a Doctor Who one but of course I'm lazier than thou.  So thanks for doing the hard work :)

Anyways, I was considering DIADEM (purposely all caps) for the TARDIS just because it's an odd name.

Seems like everyone is using Harem for other shows but then there are the companions...

Hunting Party doesn't work for K-9, does it?

Mystery Science Theater 3000

In the not too distant future,
way down in Deep 13  (CELLAR
Dr. Forrester (ALCHEMIST) and TV's Frank (MINION)
were hatching an evil SCHEME
they'd hired a guy by the name of Mike (PAWN)
just a regular Joe they didn't like
their experiment needed a good test case
so they conked him on the noggin and they shot him into space
we'll send him cheesy movies
the worst we can find (TORTURER)
he'll have to sit and watch them all
and we'll monitor his mind
now keep in mind Mike can't control
when the movies begin or end
he'll try to keep his sanity (JESTER)
with the help of his robot friends

Alchemist (the evil Dr. Forrester)
Minion (TV's Frank)
Pawn (Joel and Mike)
Cellar (Deep 13)
Scheme (the evil scheme)
Torturer (the cheesy movies... the worst, they could find)
Jester (keeping their sanity)
Remake (robots made with the special parts)
Horse Traders (invention exchange)
Pearl Diver (Pearl)

Star Trek Deep Space Nine

Wharf (Worf)
Spy (Garak, and later Bashir)
Bishop (or Vedek)
Mining Village (Terrok Nor used to be one)
Swindler (Quark)
Duke (Gul "Duke" at)
Saboteur (Changeling infiltrators)
Upgrade (the station gets one in season four)
Possession (by the Pah Wraiths)
Tunnel (The Wormhole)

I created a Star Trek set on the Dominion Deck Builder about a year ago.  My cards were:

Chapel
Ambassador
Chancellor
Bridge
Envoy
Navigator
Explorer
Outpost
Wharf
Adventurer

There are several other cards I could have used (Bureaucrat, Spy, Steward, Tactician, Nobles, etc.)  Quite a few cards fit the theme.

What's your kingdom for The LR, then?

Screw movies, how about book series?

Discworld:

Governor (Vetinari)
Militia (City Watch)
Witch
Apprentice (Rincewind)
(Unseen) University
City (Ankh-Morpork)
Swindler (C.M.O.T. Dibbler)
Bureaucrat (DEATH)
Laboratory (Leonard of Quirm)
Tunnel (The dwarves)

----

Far too many to do just ten, but I think that works for now.

Pretty sure The LR is a book series. Especially the reference to Sam's Wedding which wasn't in the movies.

Sherlock (BBC version of course)

Tactician (Moriarity)
Golem (The Golem from episode 3)
Apprentice (Watson)
City (London)
Scheme
Laboratory (221B)
Bureacrat (Mycroft)
Throne Room (Buckingham Palace)
Torturer (Irene Adler or the cab driver from episode one, they both fulfill the role in a different way)
Jester (Sherlock Holmes)

Couldn't think of anything better then Jester for Sherlock and I couldn't think of a better card for Moriarity. Tell me if someone has an Upgrade to make for my casting.

Edit: I am considering Noble Brigand for Sherlock. Nomad Camp could be the homeless neighborhood where they find The Golem. It's tough narrowing it to just ten cards.

to continue hijacking the thread...just because tolkien used "the LR" as an abbreviation doesn't make it correct. it's an abbreviation dude. it's meant to shorten a longer title.

LotR is a fine abbreviation, as it it is less ambiguous than LR and it seems to be the preferred acronym in the mainstream. anything else to me just reeks of hipsterism/elitism.

I thought I'd make one for The Wire, my favorite TV show of all time.  But there's so much going on in this program, that I made three separate kingdoms (and a few extra black market cards) to cover everything I wanted.  Each covers a different "sphere" explored in the show.

The Docks of The Wire
Bishop (Catholic priest Jermoe Lewandewski)
Contraband (Stolen imported merchandise)
Develop (Andy Krawczyk developing the Grain Pier)
Harem (Human trafficking of prostitutes)
Monument (Stained glass window)
Smugglers (The Greeks)
Trader (Proposition Joe)
Torturer (The Greek himself)
Warehouse (Double G's warehouse)
Wharf (The docks)

The Law of The Wire
Black Market (Hamsterdam, established by Major Colvin)
Bureaucrat (Any police brass or city official)
City (Baltimore, MD)
Council Room (Baltimore City Council)
Fortune Teller (Madame LaRue, the psychic)
Governor (Carcetti)
Great Hall (Baltimore City Hall)
Laboratory (Crime lab)
Spy (Kima or Sydnor undercover or Santangelo)
Steward (Coleman Parker or Michael Steintorf, chiefs of staff)
Black Market Deck
  • Fool's Gold (Hot shots)
  • Goons (Many choices, but mainly Chris and Snoop)
  • Militia (Herc and Carver, Western District cops)
  • Minion (Could be pretty much anyone: Wee-Bay, Serge, Cheese, etc.)
  • Pawn (Ziggy Sobotka or maybe even Nick Sobotka)
  • + everything in "The Streets" (see below)

The Streets of The Wire
Conspirator (New day co-op member)
Lookout (Lookouts and hoppers)
Noble Brigand (Omar)
Peddler ("Pandemic!")
Salvager (Bubbles)
Shanty Town (Projects)
Scheme (Stringer's plan to eliminate Brother Mouzone and Omar)
Stash (Stash house)
Trading Post (Corners)
Tournament (Golden Gloves Tournament or East vs. West basketball game)

Jack of All Trades is the opposite of what Holmes is. He is very comprehensive in some fields but didn't know the earth orbits the sun.

Kind of surprised no one did this yet, but the wait is over! Now, for the tableau set a long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away....

Apprentice - Vader was Obi-Wan's apprentice
Governor - Grand Moff Tarkin
Militia - I used Militia to represent a rebellion for my Godfather Part II set, but I like it here too
Rabble - the troublemakers in the Mos Eisley cantina
Salvager - the Jawas; Trader could also work
Smugglers - Han and Chewie
Tactician - Obi-Wan sacrifices his own life so everyone can get away
Torturer - "And now, your highness, we will discuss the location of your hidden rebel base."
Tournament - in itself, it doesn't really work, but all the prizes do: Han won his Trusty Steed, the Millenium Falcon, as a prize from Lando; Luke and Obi-Wan set out with Han and Chewie to save Princess Leia, but Han's just in it for the Bag of Gold; after the Battle of Yavin Han and Luke are awarded nice big shiny medals (sort of like Diadem I guess), and presumably some Followers as well
Wharf - Mos Eisley is like a space wharf

The Dominion card JoAT doesn't do everything either, it does a lot though. Similar to Holmes who is skilled in more than just crime solving.

All Along the Watchtower

"There must be some way out of here," said the joker (Jester) to the thief (Thief),
"There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief.
Businessmen (Moneylender), they drink my wine (Vineyard), plowmen dig my earth (Farmland),
None of them along the line know what any of it is worth."

"No reason to get excited," the thief, he kindly spoke,
"There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke.
But you and I, we've been through that, and this is not our fate,
So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late."

All along the watchtower (Watchtower), princes (Nobles) kept the view
While all the women (Harem) came and went, barefoot servants (Steward), too.
Outside in the distance a wildcat did growl,
Two riders (Tournament) were approaching, the wind began to howl.

Alice in Wonderland

Alice chases the White Rabbit down a Tunnel to end up in a Great Hall. A Menagerie of animals shows up, with whom she runs a Caucus-Race; soon after she gets stuck in the White Rabbit's house, where she starts to Expand. Escaping from that situation, she meets the Cheshire Cat at the Duchess's house, and the March Hare and Mad Hatter at their Feast. Soon after, she plays croquet in the Queen's Gardens, and is then summoned to the King's Court, where the Jack of All Trades (or at least, of Hearts) has been accused of stealing the queen's tarts. Interrupting the trial, she runs off and... wakes up, because it was all a dream.

But then six months later, she has another dream of going through the looking-glass, and that time, she dreams that she is a Pawn....

The Tempest (Island, Sea Hag)

Actually, I wonder if I can get a full set of Kingdom cards out of The Tempest alone...

Prospero, the Duke of Milan, is deposed and sent into exile with only his daughter Miranda and his Library of magical books. They settle on an Island, where Prospero finds that the previous inhabitant, a Sea Hag named Sycorax, has imprisoned a spirit called Ariel in a pine tree. Prospero makes Ariel his Familiar, and Sycorax's son Caliban his Pawn. When the king of Naples and the King's Court are sailing nearby, Prospero uses magic to cause them to be shipwrecked on his island in order to start a romance between Miranda and the king's son Ferdinand, presenting a Masquerade performance of spirits to celebrate their engagement. Meanwhile, the king's Jester persuades Caliban to rebel against Prospero, and Ariel lures the king and his men in with a Feast to punish them for exiling Prospero. In the end, everyone is forgiven, and Prospero gives up magic and is restored to his right as duke of Milan.

In my introduction thread I noted that Crime and Punishment is one of my favorite books, here is an attempt at a list:

Rodion Romanovich Raskolnikov - Tactician (he thinks he is like Napoleon)
Marfa Petrovna Svidrigaďlova - Familiar (her ghost is believed to haunt)
Alyona Ivanovna - Moneylender (she is a pawn broker)
Katerina Ivanovna Marmeladova - Witch (horrible woman)
Petersburg Slums - Shanty Town
Zosimov - Apothecary
Rodion's hiding place for the evidence - Stash
Porfiry Petrovic - Scout (closest card to detective)
Rodion's debts which cause the events of the crime - Loan
Sofia Semyonovna Marmeladova - Forge (she helps Rodion reform himself into something better)

With season 3 of Game of Thrones premiering tonight, here's a look back at some of the main plot points of season 2.

Tyrion takes his position as Hand in the King's Court. Arya is captured by the Lannister Militia and taken to Harrenhal. Robb proves himself a successful Tactician in battle. Stannis has has gained the support of a red priestess, thought to be a Witch, who uses dark magic to assassinate Renly, much to the dismay of Stannis's advisor, a former captain of Smugglers. The rising price of grain in the City leads the Rabble to riot. Daenerys seeks aid from a Spice Merchant in Qarth. The Ironborn declare independence from Westeros and Pillage the North. Tyrion consults an Alchemist about using Wildfire to defend against Stannis's attack and burns his ships in the bay.

(Actually, I bet we could get a full 10-card kingdom for each episode—most involving Knights and/or Nobles—but I don't want to spend the time to do that right now.)

Sure! But I wanted to do one based on Season 2 specifically. (Also, I could quibble with some of your selections, but never mind that.)

I still think there should be "Bastard," "Mad King," "Dwarf," etc cards.  Guilds, maybe?  Actually, there might be a "Secret Society" card in Guilds.

It doesn't technically fit but I'm addicted to Anti-Idle The Game so oh well  :P

Fishing Village (Poor Fishing, nobody thinks it's useful  :( )
Market Square (Might be more interesting on the board than Market, and I think either works equally okay as a flavor for LOLMarket)
Gardens (Might not be as powerful here as in the game, but I dunno)
Pirate Ship (Not one, but TWO areas in BA!)
Island (Smiley Island is just so good)
Throne Room (I haven't gotten there yet but I'm guessing it's important)
Mine (Sadly not as strong as idlemining)
Counterfeit (I have printed so many illegal coins!)
Lab (Abandoned or Secret, take your pick!)
Adventurer ("They aren't really awesome though.")

Other ideas were Black Market (for Mystery Shop), Secret Chamber (for SD's Final Chamber), Familiar (for Pet), and Treasure Map (I heard there's one in there somewhere).  I wanted Potions but couldn't think of an actual potion card to include.

I'm not sure how I'd play this one....I feel like Gardens > Pirate Ship > some sort of treasure-centric something > Gardens but I dunno.

Game Of Thrones (sry had to do it)

Moneylender (littlefinger)
Spy (varys)
Watchtower (the nights watch)
Smuggler (Davos)
Hoard (Tywin Lannister)
Fortune teller (Melsiandre)
Horsetrader (dothraki)
Pirate ship (Salladhor Saan)
Torture (Llyn payne, hound, could be many people)
Familar (whitewalker)

That fits Littlefinger's job, but the image on Swindler is exactly how I picture Littlefinger in my head.

A book series instead of tv/movie, but on The Malazan Book of the Fallen:

Wandering Minstrel (Fiddler)
Possession (Cotillion; he also works for Rogue, Thief, Saboteur)
Thief (Crokus)
Band of Misfits (Bonehunters)
Mercenary (Bridgeburners)
City (Darujhistan)
Fortress (Mock's Hold in Malaz City)
Saboteur (Lasseem, or Shadowthrone/Cotillion)
Pirate Ship/Ghost Ship (Shruq Elalle)
Cultist (Pannion Seer)

Also: Hunting Grounds (Eres'al or T'lann Imass), Mystic (Tattersail), Alchemist (Baruk), Nobles (Darujhistan nobles) and various for Witch, Squire, Beggar, Soothsayer, etc.  Oh, and Black Market for Ganoes Paran since he could create new cards and such.

I should re-read Malazan at some point.  I started the series when there were like 4 out, and then I would have to wait a year or two before the next one... having everything spaced out makes some plot lines difficult to keep track of.  Also, since Book of the Fallen finished, I haven't checked in.  I know that more entries have been published by Esslemont, and Erikson has started working on another set (of 10?) but I haven't looked them up yet.

He started on the Kharkanas Trilogy, which is really awesome.  Only the first book has been written so far; it's about the history of the Tiste (featuring Annomander Rake as a young angsty man).

Lawrence of Arabia (also Seven Pillars of Wisdom, of course...)

Jack of All Trades ("He was a poet, a scholar, and a mighty warrior.")
Wharf ("You could supply us through Aqaba.")
Gardens ("But my father is old.  And I... I long for the vanished gardens of Cordoba.  But before the gardens must come the fighting!")
Oasis (the oasis on the way to Aqaba and damn it I don't have a quote for it, it's not referenced in the dialog even in passing)
Caravan ("If the camels die... we die.")
Nomad Camp ("It is my pleasure that you dine with me in Wadi Rum!")
Scheme ("I'm not a politician, thank God.  Have we any ambitions in Arabia, Dryden?" "Difficult question, sir.")
Saboteur ("I'll smash his railways, and while he's busy mending them I'll smash them somewhere else.")
Torturer ("Beat him.")
Council Room ("They've occupied the town, sir, they've done it.  He's set up his own headquarters in the town hall ... They call themselves the Arab National Council.")

Also if you want to make an engine viable, swap in Village ("This was Talal's village.") for Torturer.

Tactician -- Batman

Urchin-Mercenary is pretty close too.
Based on the movie version, Urchin as Bane (and as the Bane) could work. Or if we want to get really sneaky, Urchin as Bane, and Young Witch as Talia al'Ghul.

Now, about the saga of the Emerged World by Licia Troisi I spoke about a few time ago (this is the best saga ever... according to me of course ! This saga changed my life and my vision of fantasy and reading books !)

About the Chronicles of the Emerged World :
LOTS OF SPOILERS ! READ THE THREE BOOKS BEFORE REVEALING ANYTHING !
$2Squire (Laio)
$3Sage (They are 8 of them in the 3rd book)
$4Talisman (the obvious one. Talisman of power in the 3rd book, of weakness in the game though)
$4Tournament (no real reason, I wanted to boost Talisman... wait, those books are a succession of dreadful fights where each land (province ?) counts ?
$4Pirate Ship (beginning of 2nd book)
$5Wharf (the obvious one, as I told you once Nihal's dragon is called Oarf... and, this wonderful duration card allows you to fly through your deck and to lead epic fights, just like Nihal does with Oarf)
$5Witch (Reis !)
$5Laboratory (How do you think those creatures are created by the Tyrant ?)
$7Forge (As Nihal is raised by a smithy and I didn't want smithy in kingdom because I preferred wharf and I was lacking of a trasher...)
$XP, X >= 0Golem (Nihal has to fight 2 of them in 3rd book)

Some others that could have been good but that I didn't put :
Smithy, Torturer/Soothsayer (Didn't want an extra curser), Knights (But there is only ONE female knight in the books... and furthermore I hate this card, sorry !), Council room (Magic council ...) , Oracle (Stereotypical : Nihal is the first one) ; Venture (When Sennar goes to the sea, when they lead their journey in the 3rd book...), Ghost Ship because the Tyrant has attacking ghosts... but on land

And now, about the Wars of the Emerged World :
The same world, but not the same trilogy, so not the same kingdom. BUT STILL, READ THE 3 BOOKS FIRST !

$2Native Village (The Huyé)
$3Hermit/Madman (What Sennar has become)
$4Conspirator (there are many of them)
$4Spy (Lonerin's mission is spying)
$4Monument (or rather statue, in tribute of Nihal and Sennar of the 1st saga... and in tribute of Thenaar here)
$4Thief (Doubhée... finally, all she has in common with Nihal is being a tomboyish girl)
$5Cultist (The guild)
$5Council Room (this time, the council has an important place... and I realized I had no +buy)
$6Altar (The Guild loves sacrifices... ironically enough, they are the cultists, and you know in game how Altar counters Cultists...)
$XP, X>=0Apothecary, because Doubhée needs to drink many potion, I needed to put a potion card and I think this fit the better... plus it replaces Cartographer I was about to put

Cards that I could put but I didn't :
Library, because books are important in the 3rd book. Cartographer, as Doubhée and Lonerin explores a new world in the 2nd book. Catacombs, maybe.

Personnal comment : oddly enough, this was easier to design this kingdom, both in terms of interesting gameplay and links to the saga. And I didn't find any card from Guilds... even though those books are masterpieces !

I revealed everything before reading the three books! Fuck the police!

Also, it has been scientifically proven that reading spoilers improves your experience, and it makes sense too.

Haha  My first guess was Wizard of Oz. Cause of the witches and when Dorothy first came they asked her "What kind of witch are you?" and then I saw Woodcutter and the Wicked Witch had a crystal ball(scrying pool)...

Hey, why not make one. This one is Lost.

Island (They're on an island)
Doctor (Jack)
Hunting Party (Hunt for food)
Torturer (Sayid used to torture for the military)
Native Village (They make themselves a village)
Sea Hag (The French Woman)
Forager (Forage for fruit)
Scavenger (Sawyer in season 1 loots the dead passengers)
Wandering Minstrel (Charlie is a guitar player)
Smugglers (The plane with a drug runners that they found)

I'm sure I could do better though.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Cellar"But Mr. Dent, the plans have been available in the local planning office for the last nine months."
"Oh, yes, well, as soon as I heard I went straight round to see them, yesterday afternoon.  You hadn't exactly gone out of your way to call attention to them, had you?  I mean, like actually telling anybody or anything."
"But the plans were on display..."
"On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them."
"That's the display department."
"With a flashlight."
"Ah, well, the lights had probably gone."
"So had the stairs."
"But look, you found the notice, didn't you?"
"Yes, yes I did.  It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying, 'Beware of the Leopard.'"
Hermit/Madman"I will go mad!" he announced.
"Good idea," said Ford Prefect, clambering down from the rock on which he had been sitting.
Arthur's brain somersaulted. His jaw did press-ups.
"I went mad for a while," said Ford, "did me no end of good."
Bridge"There was a bridge built across the marshes. A cyberstructured hyperbridge, hundreds of miles in length, to carry ion-buggies and freighters over the swamp."
"A bridge?" quirruled the mattress. "Here in the swamp?''
"A bridge," confirmed Marvin, "here in the swamp. It was going to revitalize the economy of the Squornshellous System. They spent the entire economy of the Squornshellous System building it. They asked me to open it. Poor fools."
BureaucratHere is what to do if you want to get a lift from a Vogon: forget it. They are one of the most unpleasant races in the Galaxy - not actually evil, but bad-tempered, bureaucratic, officious and callous.  They wouldn't even lift a finger to save their own grandmothers from the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal without orders - signed in triplicate, sent in, sent back, queried, lost, found, subjected to public inquiry, lost again, and finally buried in soft peat for three months and recycled as firelighters.
MonumentAnd this annoyance had been given its fullest expression in the statue in the center of all this monstrosity that was a statue of Arthur Dent, and an unflattering one. Fifty feet tall if it was an inch, there was not an inch of it that wasn't crammed with insult to its subject matter, and fifty feet of that sort of thing would be enough to make any subject feel bad. From the small pimple on the side of his nose to the poorish cut of his dressing gown, there was no aspect of Arthur Dent that wasn't lambasted and vilified by the sculptor.
Arthur appeared as a gorgon, an evil, rapacious, ravening, bloodied ogre, slaughtering his way through an innocent one-man Universe.
With each of the thirty arms that the sculptor in a fit of artistic fervor had decided to give him, he was either braining a rabbit, swatting a fly, pulling a wishbone, picking a flea out of his hair, or doing something that Arthur at first look couldn't quite identify.
His many feet were mostly stamping on ants.
Rats Trillian burst in through the door from her cabin.
"My white mice have escaped!" she said.
An expression of deep worry and concern failed to cross either of Zaphod's faces.
"Nuts to your white mice," he said.
Trillian glared an upset glare at him, and disappeared again.
It is possible that her remark would have commanded greater attention had it been generally realized that human beings were only the third most intelligent life form present on the planet Earth, instead of (as was generally thought by most independent observers) the second.
ScoutWith a searing whine a small black spider-like object shot through the air and disappeared down the corridor.
"What was that?" hissed Zaphod.
"Frogstar Scout robot class A out looking for you," said the man.
"Hey yeah?"
"Get down!"
From the opposite direction came a larger black spider-like object. It zapped past them.
"And that was…?"
"A Frogstar Scout robot class B out looking for you."
"And that?" said Zaphod, as a third one seared through the air.
"A Frogstar Scout robot class C out looking for you."
"Hey," chuckled Zaphod to himself, "pretty stupid robots eh?"
From over the bridge came a massive rumbling hum. A gigantic black shape was moving over it from the opposite tower, the size and shape of a tank.
"Holy photon, what's that?"
"A tank," said the man, "Frogstar Scout robot class D come to get you."
HighwayBypasses are devices that allow some people to dash from point A to point B very fast while other people dash from point B to point A very fast. People living at point C, being a point directly in between, are often given to wonder what's so great about point A that so many people from point B are so keen to get there, and what's so great about point B that so many people from point A are so keen to get there. They often wish that people would just once and for all work out where the hell they wanted to be.
Torturer"Beeblebrox,"' he said, sticking his hands behind his head, "have you any idea what's going to happen to you on the Frogstar?"
"They're going to feed me?" hazarded Zaphod hopefully.
"They're going to feed you," said Roosta, "into the Total Perspective Vortex!"
Zaphod had never heard of this. He believed that he had heard of all the fun things in the Galaxy, so he assumed that the Total Perspective Vortex was not fun. He asked Roosta what it was.
"Only," said Roosta, "the most savage psychic torture a sentient being can undergo."
Zaphod nodded a resigned nod.
"So," he said, "no food, huh?"
"Listen!" said Roosta urgently, "you can kill a man, destroy his body, break his spirit, but only the Total Perspective Vortex can annihilate a man's soul! The treatment lasts seconds, but the effects last the rest of your life!"
"You ever had a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster?" asked Zaphod sharply.
"This is worse."
"Phreeow!" admitted Zaphod, much impressed.
Philosopher's Stone"We," said Majikthise, "are Philosophers."
"Though we may not be," said Vroomfondel waving a warning finger at the programmers.
"Yes we are," insisted Majikthise. "We are quite definitely here as representatives of the Amalgamated Union of Philosophers, Sages, Luminaries and Other Thinking Persons, and we want this machine off, and we want it off now!"
"What's the problem?" said Lunkwill.
"I'll tell you what the problem is mate," said Majikthise, "demarcation, that's the problem!"
"We demand," yelled Vroomfondel, "that demarcation may or may not be the problem!"
"You just let the machines get on with the adding up," warned Majikthise, "and we'll take care of the eternal verities thank you very much. You want to check your legal position you do mate. Under law the Quest for Ultimate Truth is quite clearly the inalienable prerogative of your working thinkers. Any bloody machine goes and actually finds it and we're straight out of a job aren't we? I mean what's the use of our sitting up half the night arguing that there may or may not be a God if this machine only goes and gives us his bleeding phone number the next morning?"
"That's right!" shouted Vroomfondel, "we demand rigidly defined areas of doubt and uncertainty!"
PotionHere's what the Encyclopedia Galactica has to say about alcohol. It says that alcohol is a colourless volatile liquid formed by the fermentation of sugars and also notes its intoxicating effect on certain carbon-based life forms.
The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy also mentions alcohol. It says that the best drink in existence is the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster.
It says that the effect of a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster is like having your brains smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped round a large gold brick.
The Guide also tells you on which planets the best Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters are mixed, how much you can expect to pay for one and what voluntary organizations exist to help you rehabilitate afterwards.
The Guide even tells you how you can mix one yourself.
Take the juice from one bottle of that Ol' Janx Spirit, it says.
Pour into it one measure of water from the seas of Santraginus V - Oh that Santraginean sea water, it says. Oh those Santraginean fish!!!
Allow three cubes of Arcturan Mega-gin to melt into the mixture (it must be properly iced or the benzine is lost).
Allow four litres of Fallian marsh gas to bubble through it, in memory of all those happy Hikers who have died of pleasure in the Marshes of Fallia.
Over the back of a silver spoon float a measure of Qualactin Hypermint extract, redolent of all the heady odours of the dark Qualactin Zones, subtle sweet and mystic.
Drop in the tooth of an Algolian Suntiger. Watch it dissolve, spreading the fires of the Algolian Suns deep into the heart of the drink.
Sprinkle Zamphuor.
Add an olive.
Drink ... but ... very carefully ...
The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy sells rather better than the Encyclopedia Galactica.

I have two preschoolers.  And since most of you don't, and even the youngsters are really old for this, I suppose I must provide explanations...

Explorer (Dora)
Advisor (Boots)
Secret Chamber (Backpack)
Cartographer (Map)
Thief (Swiper)
Scout (Diego)
Menagerie (Various animals)
Minion (Baby Jaguar)
Haven (Animal Rescue Center)
Jack of All Trades (Rescue Pack)

And now to cleanse your mind of all of that, I give you this:

Wreck It Ralph

Marauder - Wreck-it Ralph
Rebuild* - Fix-it Felix Jr
(*especially NoMoreFun's version: http://forum.dominionstrategy.com/index.php?topic=9976.msg337262#msg337262)
Baron - Gene, Leader of the Nicelanders
Rats - the cy-bugs
Tourniment (or Highway) - The Candy Crush Races
King's Court - Vanellope Von Schweetz  (because King's Court makes other cards rediculously fast and broken and I consider the card to be a glitch in the game and never play with it if I can help it.)
Throne Room - King Candy  (he's a king and also a racer)
Turbo - Rogue
Taxman - Sour Bill
Vagrant - Q*Bert
Beggar - Q*Bert's friends, Coily, Ugg, Slick, and Sam

I included eleven because I wouldn't actually play with King's Court (even though I used it for one of the best characters. I didn't think of any that fit her better).  I never use Tourniment if I can help it either, but I included an alternate card for the races.
There's also a fan-made card that would be appropriate to sub in sometimes:
Junkyard - Ralph's home.

Dominion Strategy Forums

University - because we are a bastion of Dominion scholarship
Advisor - because sometimes our advice is hilarious rather than useful
Bureaucrat - because of edge cases
Salvager - because of the Salvager extension
Scout - because of course
Tournament - because there are tournaments
Band of Misfits - because we come from a diverse background
Council Room - because of rrenaud (and also CouncilRoom.com)
Explorer - because they can't all be the best set
Adventurer - because of theory

But what about forum games?

Could fit under Tournament, I think?  Do you have other suggestions?  Some other things I was considering:

Moat - is it Moat?
Stash - to reference Stache (but this would be a bit egotistical).
Candlestick Maker - to reference my candle avatar (but this would be egotistical as well).
Rats - because it's Donald's favourite card, IIRC.
Chancellor - to allow you to make more shuffle luck.

The Black Cauldron

Scrying Pool (Hen Wen)
Fortune Teller (Eilonwy, since Princess isn't a Kingdom card)
Urchin/Mercenary (Horned King employs mercenaries)
Wandering Minstrel (Fflewddur Fflam)
Ill-Gotten Gains (the cauldron, etc)
Minion (Creeper)
Graverobber (also Creeper)
Witch (the witches of Morva)
Cultist (the Horned King's followers)
Altar (sacrificing for the Cauldron Born)

could also have Sage (Dallben), Fortress (the castle).  Unfortunately we don't yet seem to have cards that would represent Taran or the Horned King.  :/

(Ironically, in Dominion, Hamlet can make your Tragic Hero less likely to die. In Shakespeare, that's not the case.)
