After enjoying a pizza dinner with the Family, they made the mistake of getting into a car they left parked unwatched on the street. The key goes into the ignition and BOOM! Joseph story cuts to black.

Now I'm torn! I like seeing the scola votes and I like MiX's reasoning. Though it does presuppose math not seeing how things would look if he killed Joseph, and someone could have killed Joseph to make math look bad.

I also don't want to exile town!scola, though, and L-2 is quickexile territory. I'm talking myself out of voting at all!

If I'm reading setup correctly, Scum knows who traitor is and chose not to recruit last night. So they likely don't feel threatened and find out safer to continue playing alone with immunity at night, at the risk of losing during day votes.

So I'd say gk is less likely to be Scum today, based on that (could still be Traitor, but that's less relevant until recruitment).

LL? Awaclus? MiX? Others? Who would feel confident continuing to play alone? I know it doesn't narrow it down much, but I'd say those with votes yesterday are less likely.

That isn't a conclusion we can draw. It could equally well be that they chose to take the risk because they saw that as their only option with a chance of winning. Generally, it's good to take risks when you're losing and play it safe when you're winning, not the other way round, but the fact that this setup is already very difficult for scum to begin with limits how much we can read into that.

I mean, if scum agreed with my analysis here, then "oh ShiT I guess I should do something differently to prevent it from playing out like that" is a reasonable thought process to have regardless of who it is.

Come to think of it, aren't we, like, guaranteed to be in a pretty good spot regardless of who we exile? If we misxile a random townie and scum recruits traitor, it's 2 vs 7 and we have a strong PR and an extra day's worth of stuff to analyze. Hell, even if we misxile the JK, vanilla 2 vs 7 is pretty winnable. I guess scum doesn't have to recruit traitor if they're not under any suspicion and that makes it somewhat less town-favored.

Ok, finally read the setup and understand what is going on. A Joseph kill seems weird, since scum should just want to kill the towniest player. I guess maybe they thought Joseph was the JK?

Had we succeeded in an exile day 1, I think it would have been a harder decision for me, because the tempo hit of not getting a kill would hurt more. Basically you'd be giving town one more kill than scum. But since we were helpful enough to skip our kill, I think that would have changed the math for me and made it worthwhile to recruit.

I'm very fixated on the vulnerability aspect though. Once again we're in a position to exile and win. ExWi, if you will, rather than ExLo.

Those who had votes often are up for suspicion the next day again, IIRC. So if I was SM, I would have kept gk and Joseph alive. Of course, now it's WIFOM.

I definitely would have recruited. If I was SM, I think it would be pretty stupid for me not to have last night, given how the day ended and that there was a high likelihood of being a target again today.

In fact, I'm surprised Scum didn't actually do that, since it probably would point the finger right at me.
