@Arjanb: 7-7 or I missing something?

@ WW: pops is pretty active on this board, I'll try to get a hold of him.

you missing something, AngBoy won with 4,5 -2,5

Took me a minute to figure it out, but i think the ,5 means .5 points meaning there was a tie. So multiply the 4,5 and 2,5 and they get their final points.... 9-5. Sorry if i am intruding on something not my business
This is right. Most places in the world use commas where we're used to seeing decimal points, and periods where we're used to seeing commas.

Most places? I thought it was just those crazy germanic type peoples!

*edit*
Just had a look and it looks pretty spread. Plus us proper types have the Chinese and the current programming language on our side!

....(And haven't said anything before now, because this has been the busiest, craziest, most hectic week of my life. Apologies)
Got married? New job? Pregnant? Sex change? Alien abduction? .... we're all dying to know :)
All of the above ;)
Got married, Sex change, Pregnant? Pregnant, Sex Change, Got married?

Order is so important! Wish my life was this exciting... :(

Hopefully I will have time to update later, but The Real ~~**Young Nick**~~ went 4-3 against Graystripe77. The respective points are +8 and +6. The games were mostly close, with many mirror matches or semi-mirror matches. The most notable occurance? My lucky win despite opening Copper/Silver instead of Silver/Silver (this was not intentional; it was a careless misclick). We even played 2 more games after the 7 games just for fun, and those were close as well. Thanks Graystripe77!

I have included 5 of the 7 logs. The two missing were losses, one of which was a Gardens/Workshop mirror in which my foe came out on top 16-14.

Game 1: YN 44, GS 38. http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201203/29/game-20120329-114036-215e032d.html

Game 2: YN 48, GS 29. http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201203/29/game-20120329-114754-0509c877.html

Game 3: YN 14, GS 16. Aforementioned Gardens/Workshop game without a log.

Game 4: YN X, GS Y. X<Y. No log, but we both went for Militias, Markets, and King's Courts.

Game 5: YN 30, GS 28. http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201203/29/game-20120329-115834-156c37c5.html

Game 6: YN 38, GS 31. http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201203/29/game-20120329-120414-dff5e73c.html

Game 7: YN 28, GS 34. http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201203/29/game-20120329-120944-536c99e3.html

Notes: In the first game, we played with at least 6 base cards instead of exactly, but luckily it did not matter; there were only 6 from the base set in the kingdom. GS did not realize it was not a match, so he assumed the 7th game did not matter at the start, yet he still managed to win!

WanderingWinder defeats Voltaire 12 points - 2 points (that's 6 wins for WW against 1 win for Voltaire).

Forgot to pull the log on game 7 of the match, will try to get it up once CouncilRoomed.
Videos are being uploaded as I type this.
Game 1: http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201204/25/game-20120425-095353-431f40f8.html
Basically a BM/tournament game where we each get a moneylender to thin out coppers. Not a lot of strategy difference here. Turn 5 he buys silver over tournament with $5 - I'm skeptical. Other than that, I think I would have played the same as him, at least into the endgame. He gets followers, but I have a deck lead due to some shuffle luck at that point. I get a pretty big lead, and he ends it while 4 points shy, though it was going to be hard for him to come back. I'm proud of my choice of princess here when I grabbed it, and of my Trusty Steed play. But nothing super-special.

Game 2: http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201204/25/game-20120425-100240-a3c031b0.html
He plays a weird version of BM-militia where he gets a lookout turn 5, only one militia, and a mine. I go for an engine with a single militia, villages, bazaars, smithies, woodcutters, and nomad camps. He gets out to a lead but starts stalling out, and I coast into a victory on the back of my much stronger late-game deck. I'm proud of myself for ignoring woodcutter-gardens here - it's a pretty strong temptation for me. Also, at the end, the presence of gardens actually helps me, if he'd been able to squirm out to a bigger lead.

Game 3: http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201204/25/game-20120425-100708-8086e964.html
This is the one I lose. I get too many terminals, especially for a chapelled-down deck, and not enough money, but... how do I lose this? He doesn't get a witch until so late. And I don't just lose, I get demolished. So yes, too many terminals, but I'm quite surprised at the resiliency of his deck. And I'm scratching my head here.

Game 4: http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201204/25/game-20120425-101152-7393a789.html
Witch, Young witch with a duchess bane, IGG, and... trader is the power card. He ignores the traders, I get both trader and cursers and blow him out of the water a bit. Lots of silvers, banks are around, but I don't think so important. Not a lot here. Cursing is very powerful, and trader is a very strong counter to that.

Game 5: http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201204/25/game-20120425-101702-bc96cdf9.html
We get 5/2. He opens chapel/council room and never plays the chapel. Goes pretty much CR/BM. I open Festival/Workshop and go workshop/silk road. It ends up being really close, in part I think because I get some slightly bad draws collision-wise, in large part because I largely mis-play it. Anyway, I end up with 7 5-point SRs and what looks like a comfortable win, but in reality it was anything but.

Game 6: http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201204/25/game-20120425-102035-5627669d.html
Most every card seems important here. I hit 4/4 on my first reshuffle, which is pretty dreadful, but my haggler saves my butt by being able to buy a province every time I draw it. Basically I think that was the game, but there's a lot of different stuff going on here, potentially quite complex.

Game 7: http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20120425-102847-213b9e7f.html
I go for an engine again! He ignores familiar. I do not. And I'm able to get a familiar on the first reshuffle. And then build this massive engine with a workshop, smithies, festivals and villages. And I'm able to do massive things by the end of the game, coasting home as it were. Though early on, it looked like he might be able to race it, going out to quite a large lead.

And the final week 1 match is finally in the books. Many thanks to WW for the games. They were a very humbling and thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Maybe it was his Gold buys? He had 3 by the time you got your first one.

He chose not to trash a copper with his chapel so that he could buy a silver. The draws worked out for him and he bought gold after gold and even got away with buying a pawn in preference to a witch. You trashed down and left yourself two to spend on a useless card.
