If that's right, I do think TRIP or FINGER last, and I think TRIP is better.

After that it gets more difficult, bc we have to determine what the overlap is. But the remainder would be

String - Code, Trip, Finger
Skating - Trip, maybe Finger

less sure on all this, especially because trip could be replaced with mail for string and then I would have no clue at all.

My biggest concern for trip of finger is that I feel the skating clue would've been for two new words.

Mail String, I guess could be a thing - in the context of email?

Is Cross skating related? Or maybe Alps? (since it's cold? and skiing/skating)

bodyguard: 3 - pistol, armor, star

string: 3 - bikini, bean,
skating: 2 - figure,

sealing 2: candle, mail

So, I agree with pasta that it would be so strange to not have skating be a full clue.
However, I also believe that Trip works good for both string or skating... so I think I am still a Trip fan.

One of the reasons is the order.

You could go SEALING first, get those 2, then Skating ands we'd know for sure there was an overlap.

right, but it is progressive. like the winning play is clue larger early so if they could only link 2 for SEALING then BODYGUARD is a better early play.

Like I get your point. But we got a 3 clue, got it... then got a 3 clue... went 2/3... then got a 2 clue... pretty sure at this point that the SEALING of 2 MUST BE EITHER

1. Sealing has an overlap with either String or Skating
2. Sealing is unique and the overlap is within String and Skating

If 1. Then Mail and String for Sealing and either of them. Then Trip, Code, Finger.
if 2. Then Trip is the play.

LCD is obviously TRIP.
I have removed finger for myself personally at this point, as fingers need to be bandaged, or fingers are used to rub in sealing components, etc... so it would of been a 3 clue I think. Especially from didds.

TLDR; I think the overlap was Mail, and I think that Trip is better. Again, I am open to someone arguing something else. But, not to be a Dbag about it... there needs to be a better reason.

sorry should mention... the main point is that even if my overlap concept is wrong... I would still like TRIP.

My point about order was specifically with just the last two turns - Skating and Sealing, not the previous 3 worded clues (though there are reasons to not always start with the biggest, that's besides the point here).

With 3 words left, why not first give the clue that has two independent words, so when you gives the 2nd clue, it's DEFINTE there's the overlap?

There is a (small) argument to be made for PASS here. In that Red had 2 words left and gave a clue for only 1 last turn. It's possible that they don't have a good clue for their last two words. It's also possible that they do, but it was blocked by Candle and  Mail.

SO it seems, we have:
Swowl wants to guess TRIP.
Eeevee prefers FINGER (barely).

So I get to be the tiebreaker? Unless I prefer a 3rd word, due to my logic above.

And I don't think I do, enough.

My vote is TRIP. Not locking in, in case either of you want to first consider Passing. But if not, then go ahead and lock in.

I think pass would be a rough go here. Joth chose to go with a one-clue on the last one, which to me means "let's not risk the 2 clue on this one, take the lay up and let them mess up". So I think they have it if they get it. Could be wrong and he just has a crazy hard board... but that is my thought.

So Eevee, it is your call - pass or guess?

I’ll grant the connection here is most clearly Link & Code - and I’m not really thinking we shouldn’t guess those (in the absence of better options) —- however my biggest concern if those ARE our words is that this turn was unnecessary:

‘Building’ could’ve been (2) to clue ‘Code’. Every building built anywhere is built to local city and state codes.

‘Meat’ could’ve been (4) to clue ‘Link’. We discussed Sausage Links at the time and were mostly hesitant because we were concerned about it possibly being Red for Bodyguard — but as soon as they filled that quota Link would’ve been back on the table.

Either way - again, I don’t think there’s a better set to choose from here, but I thought the concerns should be posted.
