Military was such a good clue! It ended up that I had the dust - clue also down correctly, just really struggled with redecorate.

Redecorate was meant to be Change, Ivory (I believe it is a popular alternative to magnolia as a neutral colour) and Orange (a bit of a stretch, but it's another colour you could paint).

I didn't want to do Military until their Van had gone. Vanguard (opposite of rearguard, as well as being a battleship name) seemed like a stronger link than Doctor, but we were so far behind at that point it seemed worth the risk.

I'd have contested Vanguard as it contains VAN.

I am not getting the connections between Sneakers and VAN. This was decisive I think.

ORANGE was a guess since you guys still have an orange in the West Wing.
