I have no idea. Go for it if you like it. Or Cloak. One more correct would give us 7, which seems a good place to stop if we're not sure.

slightly skeptical on cloak because of your point about cluing 5 for our first clue. But I agree stopping at 7 here is probably best.

Ok, well this evokes the cell phone thing again, so Battery, Card, and Palm are still on the table. And maybe File.

But now Pie seems like a gimme. Nut is also a possibility, though I don't really think of pies as being nutty. There are peanut butter pies and pecan pies though.

I think we should open with battery and pie.

Assuming battery is correct (which I suppose it doesn’t have to be), that leaves 1 word associated with ringtone left.

Palm, File, Card would probably be the leading choices there.

With battery and pie, we would have 4 of 8. With 1 more for ringtone, that leaves 3 words for Apple that DON’T have a strong association with Ringtone (else they would’ve been clued previously).

Remaining words:
Nut, Light, Leprechaun, Cloak, Amazon, Snowman, Ham, Silver, Wind, Chair

Fruits & Nuts is a pretty common snack. I could see that connection.
Apples, like most things, need light to grow.
Apples maybe grow in the Amazon? I don’t think so though.
Ham, Apples & Swiss is a somewhat common sandwich.
Wind could knock Apples down from trees.
You could use a Chair to reach Apples on a limb.

I don’t see much for Leprechaun, Cloak, Snowman, or Silver.

I think I like File for the last Ringtone/Apple connection word. Better than Palm and Card.

After that, my picks would probably be Ham & Wind, in that order... but none of these are slam dunks.
