Now that we are out of the zone of relaxation, it is time to get back to our despair. I will tease you with a thought experiment: consider a stadium, like from medieval times. There is an absolute uncertainty in what kind of aid you will receive. I am sure that this will help you solve the mystery of who is scum and who is not.

I don't think that scum!Galz is MiX's partner by default, though. His D1 play would work better as him vs. unsuspecting target. No need to have two people pretending when one is good enough. The target, MiX, will either seem scummy and get nixed or nk'd, or seem towny and get nk'd. Town!Galz could also do his "deal" as a way to perk up the game and scumhunt by looking for reactions.

I do not buy any "I wouldn't do this as scum" arguments. I really dislike them, and they are often wrong. I don't like how Galz cheerfully got Swowl nixed. I need to think about this some more.

I agree that Galz and Mix aren't likely not the same team, but I don't know why any of the arguments that he's made mean that he's not on the other non-town team. And if he had a pretty good scum read on MiX, whacking him at night makes a ton of sense because MiX is wily and would have held Galz's feet to the fire for leading Swowl to his doom. Into the belly of the beast, as it were.

I do think Galz is scum. I don't think Galz is MiX's partner. If y'all want to hunt up MiX's partner I'm down to give that a shot, I'm home sick today so I should be able to make the time for a reread.

I agree, the game is faltering. But I am too tired today to adventure deeper into the wilds of mafia. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

I've made it partway through D1, and Galz just seems off. I think I agree with his argument that he's not MiX's partner, but I still like my nomination for him as our target of exile (otherwise known as a vote).

Alright friends, the deadline is tomorrow.

My rereads have yielded nothing terrible insightful, but I’m still feeling positive about the scum death...even if it just slightly makes the odds slant in our favor.

My most suspicious folks right now are Scola, Galz, and EFHW. Galz is at L-2. I’ll move there if that is the most likely exile. I think there is a good chance he is other-scum.

We don't have time to brainstorm, it's true. I find Galz's silence interesting and feel more inclined to vote for him. He doesn't seem to be looking for scum.

I'll eat a hat (seems to be the thing to do these days) if I'm wrong on her. She almost certainly knows that I'm town, and is craaaaazy hedging. Right now, my best estimation for scum teams looks like this:

{MiX, Chairs}
{EFHW, [WCD, Awaclus]}

And while my gut says I want to think Mail-Mi is scum, I think that's just because of the way he's pushing my lynch. I think it's just natural reaction on my part - I don't actually think he's scum.

Also, I feel like I get lynched as town a lot ... and yet I constantly see arguments that "Galz feels off" ... I want to argue that people just clearly don't know how to read me because... it keeps happening - except then I went back and looked and I haven't actually been mislynched as town all that often recently. I had a string of games shortly after M100 where I was lynched/NK'd N1 (took 5 games after M100 to even reach D2, and I was lynched D2 lol), but it hasn't been bad since then. So... so much for that.

A wise scholar once said that if you're lynching Galz, he's not scum. That still holds generally true. I'm pretty certain that I've only ever been lynched as scum when I was non-traditional scum (Although over 8 years of playing Mafia on this site... I might have forgotten a game). Traitor, SK, Third-Party. Well, lynch me here and that streak will continue.

I mean, if I were to pray to the MOD god, this all but confirms me as town. I am the "popular clique" with 3 votes. MOD just confirmed that lynching me hoping to find scum would come back negative. I now claim MIC status.
