There's life and grace, if we think of the ancient Roman circuses where losing gladiators could have their life spared or not, depending on whether the emperor was merciful (I'm not sure if that's actually historically accurate, but that's a mental image that a lot of people have). Ah sorry, forgot you already explained it. I think (uni)cycle is slightly more likely, but you can choose! I think guessing either is better than passing, it’s a tough situation.
