I don't know of any, but it probably wouldn't be too difficult to set one up. I have some experience running and arbiting chess events, and could probably give transferrable advice.

Centuries later, archaeologists discover the remains of your ancient civilization.

Evidence of thriving towns, Pottery, roads, and a centralized government amaze the startled scientists.

Finally, they come upon a stone tablet, which contains but one mysterious phrase!

'ISOTROPIC WILL RETURN!'

The University of Warwick Games & Sci Fi society ran one recently at (surprisingly) the University of Warwick (in Coventry), which I was involved with. I'm intending to make sure another is run around this time next year, and hopefully making it a much bigger event. Of course, that's a year off, so there's plenty to happen in the meantime.

...spin-offs are still better for all of the previously cited reasons.
But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

Dark Sphere in London have told me they'd run more or less anything if the demand was there

Their events list seems to be nothing but MtG, though; do you think they'd be up for a Eurogame tournament?

However, what about the Board Games Expo in Birmingham?

Looks like they are doing loads of similar events, and you can apply to run an event...

At most board games conventions such as Midcon or Manorcon there will probably be an informal tournament based on recorded results from games played casually over the weekend. There will almost certainly be people playing Dominion at these conventions if people want to turn up for face-to-face games.

I would be up for a London tournament.  May even be willing to travel a bit further afield ;)

Would prefer York (or Leeds). I'd travel to London if there was enough incentive though.

I don't think Dark Sphere have anything specifically set up yet. If people start emailing them asking though then we can probably get them to start one up. We spoke to them a while back and I think they have some informal games on their miscellaneous games day.

London is usually where these kind of things get off the ground, purely because of mass of people and the ease of travelling there from the surrounding area.  Obviously if there s critical mass of interested players in another area though, that'll be the place to be.

Yeah, I understand why all of these kinds of things happen in London, I just feel like when it happens a lot of people are being left out. Somewhere like Leeds is much more central and accessible to many more people who wouldn't travel all the way to London.

Also Leeds is closer to me than London is.

For what it's worth, I am leaving London and returning to New York on March 31.  While here, I've been playing with London on Board, which is an incredibly great group of gamers.  They're not much into Dominion, but if any of you come I'd be happy to play it ...

Its tempting, but would take me an hour or so to get there from here, prob 45 mins on a good day. So most days I couldnt make it,  And I dont mix well with other people!

*Edit* (in that im quite quiet, rather than I smell or something)
