So I've pretty much got to make a guess at the whole thing here, because making a clue for 1 is trivial.

Tap > Point > Africa

Code (this was a stretch and I was thinking of how it related to hospital.  I should've just said 4)

Point
Key (this is a basketball term for the area beneath the basket)

Dance:

And then point just worked out and I was hoping you would guess key from secret or NBA.  Couldn't figure out how to get tap and key in without satellite.

I had to rely on the information on Wikipedia about Mike Mansfield, and I assumed the word I missed was PRIVATE since he served (but then who didn't at that time), so I didn't pursue in that direction anymore.

Yeps, this was my intention. I was preparing for music: 4 for soul, band, shop and box, but key staying out there for blue made me play it safe.
