If Gkrieg is town you want him to act.  If Gkrieg is scum you want him to act.

I'm confused by this...

I hope Iguana's case is that I'm actually making a case, which I, like, never do as town.

Pretty much! Also it's a pretty bad case on the new guy of all people.

Actually, it's a very good case.  Well, the argument is good.  The premise may be wrong.

The argument assumes deliberation that may not have existed.

I'm like actually pretty sure that ash is scum.

Really ? Just based on the L-1 thing ?

And his reaction to it.  The defense was definitely a scummy one.

But was it online ? And did it use week-long deadlines (roughly) ?

It was online. Roughly 3-4 days deadlines.

I know
As an aside, many here are not native speakers either. Eevee is Finnish, faust (well I guess he's dead in this game but you know) is German as well as silverspawn, LaLight is Russian, iguana's a reptile and I'm French.

I was aware there are a lot of non-native english speakers here.  But I just wanted to make it clear that if i write things that look a little bit weird or aren't quite right, I have the "not a native speaker"-excuse.

The point is Gkrieg is being criticized for playing.

Voting is exactly the kind of thing that furthers discussion.

Perfectly valid in every game that has a scum dayvig power via QT order. Voting comes up slightly more often.

Gkrieg is calling the L-1 scummy based on information we have in hindsight.  That’s disingenuous given I had no reason to think the L-1 would result in anything other than some discussion and unvotes.  Which, by the way, was my expectation and reasoning.  I had no reason to suspect schadd of anything.  The voters and non voters were more interesting.

I mean, if the discussion is “would ashersky place an L-1 vote that results in a quick hammer as scum” then the answer is of course yes.  But so would everyone.  It’s just as valid to argue that hidden double voter gkrieg started a wagon hoping it would run up to L-1 and surprise lynch, or that faust hidden voted when he stated intent to hammer, etc.

I’m getting good reads so far today, though, so that’s good.

These two quotes are what I'm talking about.  His first quote is just ridiculous.  Calling me disingenuous for saying that he had more information that he looked like he had just doesn't make sense.  My case on him is that he put schadd to L-1 then cast a secret vote to lynch him.

The second quote he is saying that everyone would do something, but he is the only one that it applies to in this game, so it really only applies to him.  He says that it is just as valid to say that anyone on the wagon did what I'm accusing him of doing, which is false.  I'm saying that he put schadd to L-1 and then had the assurance that he could get a quicklynch, which is much scummier than starting a wagon with no good reason with the hope you could early hammer someone.

Did people miss Jake saying "I can confirm LL's thing about two scum factions?"

Also, why are people saying Fring would use his double voting power to hammer his partner? That makes no sense guys!

Of course, why should we discuss the possibilities when we can act with certainty and implicate people outright based on this certainty?

The key word is act, bolded above. PPS is implying that Gkrieg may be scummy, because he is acting with certainty that he shouldn't actually have. Therefore his position is actually that town should not act with certainty but scum might.

I think? Oh man, this conversation. I just wanted to pry into whether Witherweaver was disigenuously poking at people's motives, and now I don't even know.

To act with certainty doesn't mean to have certainty; it means to assume you are correct. We don't have all the information in Mafia; acting with certainty is the same thing as acting with doubt. Making a case generally necessitates making some assumptions and following the implications of those assumptions.

If PPS is saying that Gkrieg actually does have certainty on this subject, then PPS should just be voting Gkrieg.

PPE a lot.

I disagree I should just be outright voting gkrieg. I questioned gkrieg because of exactly the reasons outlined. I was satisfied with the tone of his responses. If we do, in fact, have hidden vote manipulation I'd say it is irresponsible to be voting just for funsies, that didn't go so well for us D1.

IKR so there must be a boogie man behind it and we're gonna solve it from the fastest D1 ever. That mentality has been confusing me all D2.

I'm confused by this...

To further clarify, if you are town what you're doing is good.  If you're scum then we definitely want you to keep posting and pushing things.  Either way, acting is in our benefit.

I mean, maybe hammering Ash on that argument would he bad, but making arguments is good.
