Are the items really that relevant in this game?
I admit that this is the first one of these I have played, but after re reading the first Rewind, it seems the roles of players is much more important.

This is NOT to say I think Role claim is a good idea, just pointing out that I don't see a huge town upside on a item claim right off the bat.

Some items are super important, others not so much. I think it's pretty good to make scum commit to a claim early on, because it gets a lot easier to get away with fake claims when we have dead people.

Tentative input - I agree with this over the earlier proposed order. I feel as if claiming the most broad things first gives skum a greater amount of knowledge, thus allowing them to lie with more ease. They could stall out the situation, creating one where we only claim game bids (which would tell individual town essentially nothing, but Skum potentially a great deal), next down bid claims, and then most straightforward would be items. Straightforward = bad for skum. Whether it is better than not claiming anything or not I do not have enough experience to know.

We don't want a Babysitter to claim Babysitter.
We're pretty much fine with Universal 1-shot claiming Universal 1-shot.
We don't want the Dagger to claim Dagger in case scum has an item stealing ability.

Slot 2:
Claiming Loud Voice is fine.
Claiming One Dose of Spice is fine if I've understood correctly that we don't know what it does.

Slot 3:
Sword-stick can't be town.
Claiming Paper seems fine.
Claiming "?" T-shirt is fine.

Slot 4:
Seems like a bad idea to claim Priceless Ming Vase.
Claiming Crystal Ball is... fine? I have never played with Voyeurs so I don't know how much utility it has.

Slot 5:
Claiming Mole Squadron should be fine.
Claiming Metal Rod is probably bad.
Claiming Symbol of Anyanka is a bit bad, but probably not too bad.

Everything in Slot 6 should be fine to claim.

Slot 7:
Miniatures should be fine to claim.
Golden Touch is bad to claim.

Slot 8:
The Amulet is bad to claim.
The One Ring is probably not too bad to claim.
Paper Money isn't too bad either.

Slot 9 is fine.



So slots 2, 3, 6 and 9 are entirely fine to claim. We could claim drafting position and claim which one out of 2, 3, 6, 9 did we bid for, or that we bid for something else without specifying what slot it was. That gives scum some PoE but I think the benefit to us is greater.

Alternatively, we could claim drafting position and exact slot we bid for and hope that the WIFOM is enough to prevent scum from benefiting from it. We get a bit more information this way, but I think it's not worth giving scum all that information in exchange.

Another thing to do is just claiming drafting position. This doesn't give scum much information at all, but it gives us something so I think we should do at least this.

We don't want to claim exact item for sure, unless your item is something you personally want to claim.

I think I oppose claiming. There are a bunch of drawbacks and I don't see the advantages. Someone clear me up.
