Correct, just the holding size of empty meadows.  I just dropped the dog there because why not?

I believe I have the final move of Round 7.

First, I will spend a ruby for a single tunnel tile.  Then, using Ruby Mine Construction along with my Guest Room, I will build two Ruby Mines and get one Ruby.

At harvest, I will breed a donkey and put him in a mine.  Mining Cave let's me reduce my food needs from 6 to 2 due to the 4 donkeys in mines, and I will eat a Ruby for the 2 food needed.

I updated the Action Board.  All with 3 dwarves at this point.  Didn't roll for a new card or harvest token however, as everyone else needs to handle their harvests.

Make Beer and slaughter a Boar for 6F, of which I spend 5 to feed my dwarves.
Sheep and Boar breed, and I get 2F from the Breeding Cave.

Ah yes.  Ugh, I will have to spend my other ruby for 2 more food instead, so 6 food needed minus 3 leaves 3, and 2 rubies produce 4, so instead of a leftover ruby I have a leftover food.

It actually does! What you really mean is that you don't think that's how Ruby Mine construction works, but if you check the actual wording of the card, you will see that is a valid move.
