Questioning is a good defence tactics from scum actually. That's the two things that make me think you're scum. But hell I'm not sure just as I'm not sure about anyone.

I think sometimes this is true, but faust's questioning doesn't seem scummy. As he says, he's being active for the sake of the game, which is a good thing, and he has more content than most.

LaLight's case strikes me as very bad. Don't know what to make of EFHW's case, given that I can't read it.

I agree that most of fausts's questions seemed designed to move the game along. One of the questions LL pulled out wasn't really even a question, more of a statement ending in a question mark, which really felt like a forced argument on LL's part to me.

I'm intrigued enough about EFHW's behaviour that I want to keep both her and Faust around. The thought that I'm playing directly into a scum trap in this respect has crossed my mind, but it's too early in the game to get too worried about that, isn't it?

I do have 3 reasons for suspecting faust.  But I doubt they will convince enough people, and then he will know what his scumtells are.  Keeping scum!him off balance is good, too.

Maybe it's time to tell them?

2. Carefree townreading. This happened earlier with Jake, when Robz pointed out that he isn't actually a newbie and faust said "he is to me," or something like that (sorry I am on my phone so searching is too hard). I noticed this in Heroes as well.

So, this.

On 1. I don't think I am less focused as scum. In fact I probably am more focused then. If you go through my recent games, I am fairly certain that this is backed up.

2. This is there, yes. I always make my reads strong because vagueness is the discussion killer. I don't know why this is scummy though. You may have noticed it in Heroes, but that is worth nothing unless you can also show that I don't do it as town.

3. I don't think I was defensive; even if I was, is that inherently scummy? What I certainly was is aware of your vote because it was a reason forme to townread you.

Sorry! But I'm a DC journalist and it's Election Day.

I am up to date but having a really hard time, um, identifying any behavior that I find particularly scummy. I'm voting Calamitas because lurking is scummy in general (do as I say, not as I do), and I really think Jake is town, that's all I got.

I guess the fact that it's this hard to identify scum perhaps does suggest some veteran scum action. But I think I'm leaning scummier on EFHW than on faust. I don't think her case is very good.

Anybody interest in an EFHW wagon? Gosh, I hate lynching vets on Day 1 though.

I AM NOT A MAN. STOP CALLING ME "HE"!!!!!

I find it really uncomfortable to keep having to bring this up , because I feel it detracts from game-play, but I feel like too many people just don't get it. My preferred pronoun is "they", but if you really can't deal with that, I will accept "she".

Also! The whole argument that almost everyone in here is male, so it's natural to default to "he" is just a load of bullshit. There's a perfectly good generic pronoun to use if you don't know someone's gender, or don't want to misgender a person, and you know what that is? Hint: IT'S THE PRONOUN I'M ASKING YOU TO USE ANYWAY!

Lastly, I'm not using "they" to try to hide away from the fact I'm female. I'm using it because gender norms and expectations can f*** themselves as far as I'm concerned, and because there are plenty of people, including every transwoman ever, who have more right to a feminine pronoun than I do. This current political climate is shit, and I'm just not willing to give in to all the entitled straight cis white males out there who can't deal with showing everyone else some basic human respect.

At the same time, SA, the pledge requires you to assume good-faith on the part of your fellow players. I don't think we should punish people for making mistakes--it's hard to change deeply ingrained habits, even when you want to.

And Jake, you should probably tone in a down a bit, dude--you signed the pledge too.
