This is a game I played a couple weeks ago.  There's a lot of interesting stuff in that Kingdom, but for some reason, I decided to try to get a megaturn going using Border Villages, Minions, and Bridges.  I probably didn't do the best job of it, but I thought it was a rather neat combo.

I think your plan was probably the dominant one on thsi board.

This is a good example of the "other" way to play Minions. Basically wanting to cycle as much as possible to play other actions, not really caring about getting much money from the Minions themselves.

Interesting that it's considered the "other" way to play Minions. I think it's supposed to be the primary way (and actually probably the only way in >2-player).

Well I'm not sure if that's how other people think about it. Also I guess I primarily play only 2p so that might skew things, but if I had to assign a primary Minion method it would be as a single card engine. Not that it really matters.

There are some cards that are much stronger at synergizing with Minion than an additional Minion is. For example, think about how much better hand of Festival-Festival-Minion is than a hand of 3x Minion.

Yesterday I discovered that Oasis is an amazing partner to Minion. The Minion deck does not care about the discarding, and they're so much cheaper than Minion that it's easy to pick them up on your "off" hands.
