Hmmmm well that kill sucks and is annoying.

Good thing Faust is IC now. Now I don't have to reread him.

Also I think we had the UB claim D1 last time we played this setup, but I can't remember why

Okay, so he's IC because there's one Mason and they have to come in sets and nobody's counter-claiming, yes?

This works very differently to the Werewolf I'm used to, where any mention of the cult (our equivalent of masons) or oblique hint of its existence got you instantly smitten down by fate (our equivalent of the mod). So this logic is weird to me.

There's only 1 kill, unless there's a serial killer.
Scum may choose someone to kill, and SK (if they exist) can do as well.
oh, ok. i should have maybe realized that since we can only lynch one a day.

well, i guess some of that sleuthing i did still maybe holds

i am glad that you answered but you should've waited so that someone else could say "no, we can only kill one person a night"

I guess there is no use delaying this, because mafia probably will figure it out and it will only cost us time today.

I am silverspawn's partner.

This should be obvious to anyone rereading D1.

So you know whether or not there is a UB, right?

I think it's fairly likely that the wagons the last day were all on town.

The top suspects for today are iguana, Joseph, Space-A.

Gut says Space is the place.

just reread. couple things

-seems as though there's no chance faust is lying, ss defended him a bunch of times.

-i went from suspecting ww to kinda suspecting ww. he had a sort of a habit of snarking at/refuting that spaceguy summed here but that might just be an academic mindset (seriously guys, where's the ANOVA?)
he still has an image of trying to evade suspicion and taking weak/redundant positions

i'm also incidentally pretty suspicious of me. ww and i have been professional fluffers

Really, because I'm not.
If you were scum, you would have asked your "Do 2 people die at night?" question in the mafia QT, rather than here.

Yeah, we don't do that. Things are balanced around the fact that Masons can claim. Posting (rsp. talking) restrictions are kind of stupid anyway.

I don't know what happened, but if ou plan on not playing the game, you would do all of us a service by asking ashersky to be replaced.

question: are you allowed to say (or quote, even) what you and ss said in the mason qt?
I think I can paraphrase, but not quote. Is there anthing in particular that is of interest to you?

also, does the fact that only one person died mean that someone doctored? if i understand the setup correctly, there is supposed to be 3 scum and two people die nightly.
How would you get the idea that 2 people die each night?

idk, like, all of it? i dunno what sorts of things you would even say in a mason quickthread (that's right guys! i'm not a mason!) and there isn't anything in particular i would want silverspawn to have said (it's sort of like the last-answering-machine-message-before-someone-died thing, isn't it?) but surely it only benefits us the townspeople to have it all out in the open. and sooner rather than later so you have less time to quickly make everything up

also, does the fact that only one person died mean that someone doctored? if i understand the setup correctly, there is supposed to be 3 scum and two people die nightly.

dunno, the several mafia games that i've known about (the summit ones) did that. how would you get the idea that only 1 person does?

having read the rules, it says that dead players can't post anywhere except in their role qt. can ss still say stuff in the mason qt? that seems like it would be kinda silly

also, for the life of me i can't find where the rules might say how many people die each night.

Out of curiosity, how many other games have you played? And how many have you followed? You'd said this was your first one to play in here, I think, and you've asked some basic questions, but there's other stuff that makes me feel like you have a much better handle on things than you're saying, so I'd like to understand where you're coming from...

Haha, don't thank me yet... One thing that's making me quite suspicious is that you have the only use of the word "townslip" in this entire thread, which isn't really a very newbie sort of thing to come out with unless you were coached in a scum QT or something...

(seriously guys, where's the ANOVA?)

Analysis of Variance?
yes

Things here should be simple enough to do actual probabilistic analysis without needing all that frequentist assume-everything-is-Gaussian nonsense :-P

Since someone was talking about the set-up above, I started thinking in a bit too much detail about whether the fact we have two masons tells us anything about the distribution of the scum team. It does, but it doesn't skew the overall histogram of setup possibilities very much, so I'll resist the temptation to post mathsy stuff just now. I have thoughts and a nifty little script, though, if anyone would like any likelihoods computed later on..
