To my defense I must say, that Michael's saboteur trashed some of my King's Courts before  , causing me to buy new King's courts and emptying the pile . At the end of the game there were seven King's courts in the trash.

Hitting platinum is not the worst thing in the world. It does force you to discard it off the top of your deck.

Yeah, hitting platinum is actually really good.  If your opponent draws, say, gold instead (which is still a really good card!)  Swindler basically says "$2, opponent gets -$2 next turn."
