Oh, by the way gkrieg, could you not make your links direct to a page that makes you quote the post you wanted to link to? It's irritating.

Totally my bad. I mixed my two styles of rereads and failed.  Sometimes I open all the quotes in new tabs then copy paste and I was trying to do the links instead this time so it was more readable but I clicked on the quote instead of the link to the post

I agree that noticing the QT in the speccy is a little bit bigger of a deal than I originally thought

Something to note (I don't think anyone else has mentioned this): in the case that there are no scum pairs, scum has veto power over 3 of the 6 votes. Which would mean we can't lynch correctly before deadline without a bus.

Well, I would be very surprised if we managed to lynch anyone before the deadline anyways.

True. On the other hand, lynching near deadline is super tricky as well, since changing a vote pretty much requires both people to be online at the same time. Accurately lynching (ie lynching who the majority of people actually want lynched) just seems generally more difficult.

I've read the thread and have very few opinions. I've realised I need to actually interact with people to form half-decent reads.

That was one major setup for a townslip   ::)

Woh, nice slip there ^^

Welp, now that I know Faust is town, I feel comfortable with a symbolic Vote: ced

I encourage the other dating pairs to kill my scum buddying partner.

Teamwork is key, but we are saved from our lady of perpetual mislynch by the glory of plurality.

So I say something about scum set-ups, everyone gets mad. But Jimmmmm can say something and nobody gets pissed.

wow just read haddock's scumread on iguana which I totally don't agree with

One thing I've learned from playing a lot of town games is that scum loves to scumread me, so yeah I could definitely get behind this lynch too, the OMGUS would be delicious particularly because I usually don't do it.

unvote by the way. It's not a real 'townslip', but it's enough to make me look somewhere else.

I don't really want to by voting for gkrieg I think. Right now the only reason to do that is because he knew that scum had daychat and I hate these kinds of arguments. Plus, he opened by voting for someone who's not playing. Scum with daychat is probably more aware of who's playing.

So I could go back to Awaclus, but that doesn't really do anything to advance the game state, now does it? I feel like Seprix has been somewhat scummy so far. Let's vote: Seprix and see if I can back that feeling up somehow.

Okay I guess the main thing I have here is this:

I'm assuming that by voting for RR, you're implying that his post about not finding anyone scummy was scummy. And I'm saying that that's not true, and that by making that vote you're making a case that I know you're too smart to actually think is true, so I'm saying it's more probable that you're scum trying to find a reason to vote for someone.

But in the end, my vote wasn't bad at all because it got us from RVS to you actually voicing a read and give people something to work with.

Why do you think RR's post wasn't scummy? Do you think it was towny? If yes, why? If no, then why should I not have voted for him if I don't have a scumread on anyone else?

Scum feels pressure to have strong reads, lest they attract suspicion. Casually admitting that you don't have reads is therefore towny.

Scum also feels pressure to not draw attention to themselves. Mindless votes without any reason are just as common as forced votes without any reason. And if Faust's cote was scummy, what separates his vote from any RVS vote so far?

Seprix defends me here, but later, when my wagon has grown, he hops on.

Well, this isn't exactly a stellar case.

I knew WW wasn't playing when I started.  I just often RVS vote for him and was sad that I passed up that opportunity by being busy

No, not really. I was addressing ADK's point, which I thought was incorrect. However, your overreaction to some votes on you spurred my vote, but then the whole 'townslip' thing happened, and I don't think it's as terribly relevant as SS thinks it is, but whatever.

I think if EFHW had considered the whole thing, then she would almost certainly choose not to share them in the first place rather than telling the scum team not to spoil stuff.

Haddock has two posts. This one:

I'm here! I think faust is town.  Especially with silvers backing. I mean maybe they're both scum, but eh.

Just caught up and read everything.  I may have missed bits and pieces (on phone) but my main takeaway here is a scummy vibe I'm getting from iguana. His posts just don't seem like him somehow. I'm aware this is super weak. But it's what I got. vote: iguana

Im null-scum on ced. But would like to leave that for a while, see some more of ced's play. (Pronoun, ced? )

Well, townreading me is a safe option. I won't get lynched D1 anyway, and once I inevitably get nightkilled, you won't look scummy for hopping a town wagon.

I would like to know where that ced read comes from. Also this whole "I know this is weak" talk is scummy.

The second post is just more buttering me up. Because I "feel right".

Vote: Haddock is probably better.

Speaking of which, I wasn't expecting you to overtly show suspicion of silverspawn, especially not after I've called you on it. I'm interested in what exactly brought you to say what you did in e.g. #134 (i.e. that you think the second vote is worse than the first).

It's kinda a mafia "common wisdom" that the second vote is scummier than the first, as in it's easier to hop on a wagon than to create one. By such logic, ADK should be voting for silver over me. He's not, and I want to know why.

I mean, the fact that a second vote is viewed as scummier is incentive for mafia to not make it, especially for experienced players such as SS and yourself. And you're also experienced enough to know that trying to push out of RVS is viewed as townier, so you might leap at the chance to make a "real vote". I still have to catch up more but for now I stand by my vote.

I guess ADK and I don't really have anything in our QT, so I wasn't sure how everyone was using theirs.

We have me instructing you to sheep me, which you're dropping the ball on.
