Talk about your crazy cool openings you did, either stupid or great, that ended up working out (or not).

Adventures provides tons of opportunity to do neat stuff.

For example, I opened Ferry/Doctor to thin out really quickly (a whopping 3 cards to trash outright), and bought my 3rd Colony by turn 13. My opponent resigned.

Platinum/Platinum is the best opening.

Summoning Amb/Chapel/Steward/Remake is pretty nice. Travelling Fair works almost as nicely.

Opening Inheritance with Baker/Borrow is also pretty sweet

Overall, it seems to be very important to have your $5 on t1 do to the super strong stuff.

Scout/Scout is actually underrated IMO. This is best done with Alms. If you play a Scout on turn three, you draw Estates, giving you a great chance to hit $5 on turn four.

There are easier ways to hit $5, but those often force you to add crappy cards to your deck like Silvers. With my Scout/Scout method, you have two Scouts doing work for you right from the get go.

With your $5 hand on turn three, you can actually start greening and buy a Duchy. Why is this? The Duchy won't slow your deck down because you can snap it up with one of your Scouts. So it's basically like buying VP chips at a cost of $1.6 per chip. So it's cheaper than an Estate.

Played a game in which my opponent opened Lost Arts (via Baker token) and Courtyard. Seemed strong.

Platinum/Platinum is the best opening.

But can you open it?

That Ferry/Doctor opening is genius.

That was the first thing I saw as a funny joke opening, but then after looking at the board for much longer, I realized that was probably the best opening. No +buy, no engine really.

It was briefly possible on Isotropic.

It's not a great chance because you still have one Scout in your draw pile. Actually the chance is 2/7 to be exact.

It was briefly possible on Isotropic.

It was also possible on Goko's beta. Then people discovered you could play actions from the supply, so the real best opening was playing all 10 Bridges on turn 1 and emptying the Provinces.

I want to open Villa, go back to my Action phase and play Necropolis, just because I can. :)

Better yet:

First hand: 4C, Necropolis
Play 4C, buy Villa, play Villa, play Necropolis
Buy Alms, gain Villa, hey, it's your Action phase again! (And now we know why it says "once per turn").
Play Villa, now do a little Borrowing for an extra coin.

We have $2 from Villas, $1 from Borrow, which makes it $3, let's buy Ferry and move the token to Peddler.
Due to having 3 Action cards in play, Peddler costs $2 - $2 = $0

We get 2 extra Buys from Villa aside from our regular Buy, so we have 3 Buys.

We can get 3 turn 1 Peddlers!  ;D

I don't think you can gain Villa with Alms when you have 4C in play.

Hmm, that's probably true, you foiled my plan!

I guess you only discard them during clean-up and they stay in play until you do.

I also misunderstood the Buys and the Buy phase.
You don't get an automatic buy at the start of your buy phase, you only get it at the start of your turn.  :P

On the other hand, Alms/Villa does let you open 5/3 (plus a Villa) from a 4/3 start. Or, indeed, since it's Alms, 5/4 + Villa.

Yeah, that's pretty fun, also this (requires a pretty perfect setup though):

Starting hand of 4C + Necro
Don't play any Coppers just yet, just buy Alms to gain a Villa
Use Baker, buy Seaway, move the token to Villa, gain another Villa (2 in hand now)
Play the Villas + Necro, you now have $2 and 4 Buys
Use Borrow, buy Ferry and move the token to Peddler
Buy 3 Peddlers

He hasn't got a Baker; he's using the coin token he got from Baker's being in the Supply or Black Market deck.

There's still one mistake that I see there.  You can't buy Alms to gain a Villa, and then buy Seaway to gain another without playing the first Villa. (You are out of buys.) You can still get 2 Peddlers on turn 1.  :o

Ok, I'll settle for 2. :(

I really like when you do a goofy opening that out of context seems inferior, but is good on that particular kingdom. My favorite opening ever was opening Chapel/Hamlet, still one of my only 2/2 openings (they will probably become more common now with the introduction of several power 2's in Adventures).

Can you explain the Kingdom, and why opening Hamlet/Chapel was amazing? Was it Tunnel?
