*No, there is no play on the card name or picture here*

How does this compare to other attacks?

When do you go for Jester?

What is the Jester saying?

Jester is the funniest attack in Dominion, especially when it hits stuff like Possession. Also the second best card for multiplayer.

... Also the second best card for multiplayer.

I concur. Play some Jester games in multiplayer and you will never laugh at that card again.

I've played with Jester in a 5 player game.  Wow that was fun.

Play some Jester games in multiplayer, and you'll never play multiplayer again. That's why it's the second best card in multiplayer.

No. You are thinking of cutpurse. Jester is amazing in multiplayer both for strategy and for fun.

Play some Jester games in multiplayer, and you'll never play multiplayer again.

If you flip a bad card like Copper/Estate, yes you're dealing out a Copper/Curse, but you're also removing one from your opponent's draw deck and he won't see it again until another shuffle. So the net result for your opponent is one less bad card this shuffle and one more bad card next shuffle. On the other hand, that next shuffle is closer because he has one less card to go through. Overall the effect is more hurtful than helpful to your opponent.

For instance, say your opponent has 3 Estates, 6 Coppers on top of his deck and you KC 3 Jesters, he will immediately reshuffle 3 Estates, 12 Coppers and 3 Curses, ouch!

Flipping a good card is perfectly fine since your opponent won't get to play it until a reshuffle and you gain a free copy of a possibly expensive card like Grand Market.

Flipping a Silver is basically the worst result, because you usually don't want it nor do you want your opponent to have it.

Oh, I don't laugh at Jester. It's one of my favorite cards, and I remember gaining golds and nice action cards from different players. I got to the point that I'd draw and say "Oh, I didn't know I had a Hunting Party, okay sounds good to me!"

Oh, I don't laugh at Jester.

Isn't it doing a pretty poor job then?

I laugh with Jester, not at him.

Story time:

I used to participate in National Novel Writing Month. In 2014, I decided as a challenge to work every card name into my story in one way or another (this was through Guilds.) Anyways, this card led to me making a scene in which a baron (himself based on the card art) gives a pompous speech at his daughter's wedding while behind his back a jester is jumping around making rude gestures to accompany it. The baron later mentioned that of all the traditions the aristocracy was losing, that was the one he was sorriest to see go.

There was no point to all this, just wanted to thank the card for giving me an odd idea.
