Golds would've been better, they usually are.

A couple thoughts that I hope help:

1) goons and KC are definitely the way to go here. Sooooo many possible points!

2)  you really want to trash down with count. You want your deck looking something like: count, goons (4 or so), KC (4 or so), hamlets and treasuries (the number here doesn't matter, you are buying them on spare buys. And ideally NOTHING else.

3) you are looking to use KC to draw and play all your goons. You get a million points the turn you empty pile.

4) no on should buy a province here.

5) your opponent played pretty poorly.

I know it's popular to bash on goons garden, but it makes me sad when people here do. It feels mean. He wasn't nearly as unreasonable (initially) as a lot of people act.

Like your quote here. Maybe I'm wrong but I think he said KC is NOT skipable 90-93% of the time. But you have quoted him twice in the last few days as saying the opposite.  The whole thing was lamentable and I'm not sure anyone came out looking good.

It takes strength to not bash Goon Garden, so have a +1.

I initially agreed with you about how Goon Garden wasn't as unreasonable as people pretended, but then I realized I felt hurt because of some of the things that were said (by Goon Garden and by others) and it's probably best to just laugh it off instead of ignoring what I consider to be the elephant in the room.

I agree: I should have trashed. But at no point did I felt the opportunity to trash for some reason.
Everything else: true, true, true. But it felt like a good win.

Buying a scavenger early and putting king's court on top of my deck worked surprisingly well, I feel.
