Actually, "that" is just one word.

But, "that's" is short for "that is" which is two words.

Are these intentionally self-applicable?

I kind of like Quest. Obviously you don't want to get Curses just for it, but if you already have Curses, Quest helps you improve your deck. In this way, it harms Cursers. Curiously, it also buffs attacks, which includes Cursers. It's a weird little event that has 3 different ways to use it, and each has its own effect on gameplay. Therefore i think it's hard to evaluate Quest in a vacuum. As i said several times before, i see many events (mostly those without tokens) as game modifiers, in that they change how the kingdom works, without being something that works on its own.

I'm already thinking up of scenarios where you could get +2 Buys, 12 cards in hand, and want to do this twice over whatever your lousy hand of 12 cards is at that Buy phase!  :o

Build engine
Buy two curses
...
Profit
In practice, won't you fail to get the 2 Curses together half the time?  It's like trying to get 2 Treasure Maps to collide.  In fact, I'm thinking you may want to get a 3rd or 4th Curse to better ensure this works, but by then, those Curses would undo whatever advantage you get from the Gold!  At least the Treasure Maps are self trashing.

Gold. Why do people complain about Gold? They can't all be the best $6 card ever.

Yeah. At least Quest doesn't give you Adventurers.
If anything, it should consume them ;)
