Nice! Good game all! Good guessing AHoppy!
I wasn't 100% on "birth" at the beginning, but I thought it would be more fun for both the spymasters and guessers to have clues with more than 2 associations. I was aiming for rabbit, phoenix, revolution, time...I know that's 4 but I decided to put 3 just to keep it from being too vague, and then adapt based on what happened. I was a bit worried about pound, so I think that was a reasonable guess, and I'm glad you followed up on it later.
Also, revealing pound as neutral made "hammer" possible, so I basically did that because I thought it was cool. I could have given you more guesses than 2 on this one, so you could continue with "birth", but I thought you might guess other hammer clues like racket and maybe piano, which would be bad...because it would make Blue's "music" clue more viable. Trying to decide the number of guesses to allot is an interesting part of the game.
1929 was supposed to indicate stock, and time, to make more clear that the 3 associations for "birth" did not include time, so you might focus on phoenix, rabbit, revolution.
I was pleased to see engine guessed for us of course, but I had a great clue for pants and engine!
I thought that you might be able to win on the turn before, if you had guessed revolution. Maybe you would have if you had known that there was only one word left. I wasn't sure if you had picked up on revolution from "birth". I was trying to drop subtle revolutionary hints throughout...hammer and sickle, 1929 wasn't a revolution exactly but it was an upheaval, and bell-bottoms were the most revolutionary pants I could think of lol. But I still wanted to give only 1 guess for bell-bottoms, so you didn't think I was trying to make too much of a play on bell or bottom. Anyway it ended up working out.
Did we want to play another one with the roles reversed? I'd be down.
