None of the roles are particularly complicated, and usually IRL-mafia is played with not many VTs (or that has been my experience at least), so none of that should be new to him.

I'm also biased because my first game was one of ash's RMM games, so I like never think that a game is too complicated for someone.

I held off opening RMM42 until after RMM41 had filled. I feel like RMM42 won't fill unless someone does it the same favour :-(

It seems that 14 players is over-optimistically big.. three scums and eight townies might work okay instead, but I'd quite like some more experienced guidance on whether that balances well. Anyone want to PM me if they're interested in contributing thoughts? The advantage of the fully-open setup is that you can still play if that happens :-)

I think the "issue" with your game is that it's very specific, and as such complicated.  If you aren't into Space Alert (or even know what it is -- I've never heard of it), you are less likely to sign up.

Yes, we did forum space alert for awhile and though I never played I reviewed the rules and followed some games and honestly it looked too complicated. Once I saw this game announced I was intrigued, reviewed the setup, and was like, no way could I commit to that. Thing is, I am a huge fan of RMM meta gaming. I am certain if I were familiar with space alert at home I would have been all over this one.
