Smallville Mafia is open for signups!  It is much closer to an 'M' game in that only a few aspects of roles is truly 'invented' by me (meaning it can't be found on wiki.mafiascum).

The Flash Mafia will be both much closer and much further from traditional than any game ever.

Is this the advertisement section?

Firefly Mafia is also amazing. It combines the best of Resistance, Mafia and faustian game design.

As is the custom. But if you sign up, maybe you'll at least get to strangle someone.

I may actually downgrade my game to M. It is less complex than Sherlock mafia, and not everyone will have a role(although most will)

Ya I would say that is generally pretty accurate. I think closed setup could be another definition. Well closed setup with no VTs

My general thought is that Sherlock was probably a little too complex to be run as M, but it's hard to know without a good definition.

Tonight I dreamt that I was playing a mafia game but was about to be lynched day 1. It didn't reach a conclusion, but I was one hammer away.

Also I was scum :/

Don't think so.

Quote from: Mafia Wiki
Role Madness refers to a type of game where most or all of the players have power roles; that is, there are few to no true Vanilla Townies.

Just having a few should be fine, and we historically handled it like this, too.

I don't know about historically. We've had RMMs with VTs. We've had normal games with no VTs. I think the labeling should be mostly the mod's estimation of how strong an impact the night actions will have on the game, and how different gameplay will be in contrast to normal games.

So in what is presumably an error I made or something...

Yesterday I was looking through previous mafia games, including the one I modded, MVI.

Today I click on the links again and am returned with "The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you."

..Did I somehow accidentally delete the whole thread, or is this some problem with my cache? Any ideas?

It won't be coming back to respect someone's personal request. I didn't delete it though, it was just a pretty unlikely coincidence of timing.

Well that is certainly intriguing but I suppose I can respect something I know nothing of.

Any appetite for another newbie game? A friend of mine, CheesyJelly, has just signed up to f.ds because I saw him at the weekend and told him about RMM42 :-P

He now says he's a bit overwhelmed by the site, but thinks he'll get into it when he can join a game. I'm sure he'd cope with diving straight into a regular game, but if there's anyone else who'd like a newbie thing, I'd be happy to create one.

No need for a newbie game. Just a regular game with a not so crazy setup would do fine.

My game is probably simple enough honestly. I'm guessing he has played werewolf with you before?
