More importantly, this intersection is nearby.

That's not an intersection, that's a crossroads.

Combo: duchess and chancellor.

Play duchess first, and if the top card of your deck is good, you now have more information to help you decide whether to discard your deck when you play chancellor. This combo should be strong on any board with sufficient village support. Be warned though that you may help your opponent to know whether to pull his own chancellor trigger, so it can be dangerous!

Point iguana. Not that points really matter with a result, but still.
Igu is town or trying the hardest he ever has as scum.

This is why you have to stop (and think) before doing it.

You don't need Village support.  You already have the Crossroads.

Plus, the Duchies that got you the Duchess make the Crossroads even more powerful. And the Chancellor increases the odds that your game-breaking Crossroads-Duchy-Duchy-Duchy-Princess hands will come up again.

And if the house you bought was a counting house, you can get a lot of dollars with the help of Chancellor since you already have the Crossroads for +actions.

If it was a poor house, it still guarantees an $8 hand.

This is terrible but I have no regrets.

...spin-offs are still better for all of the previously cited reasons.
But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.
