Somehow in the past 24 hours I have played a lot of boards with very nice synergies. The notable ones are:

(1) Ironworks, Crossroad, Island, Silk Road
This one works out very nicely! I manage to get 6 islands and 4 Silk Roads in two individual turns.

(2) NV, Lookout, Cartographer, Tactician
I have never used my NV mat so efficiently. Opponent's Sea Hag cannot do any harm.

(3) Border Village, Bridge, Talisman (with Smugglers, Warehouse, Governor, and Lab)
Quite interesting to play two bridges, two talismans and buy a BV, gain 2 BV's and 3 Labs.
Too bad Haggler is not on the board.

Yes, the Ironworks-Island is a great combo. Island-Silk road, another. Crossroads-Island, another. I love Island, Silk road and crossroads. So, this is a great board.

I don't really understand the second board. I know lookout is great against sea hag, but why NV was so good ?

And for the third... interesting. Bridge is a fun card. And Bridge + Bridge + Smugglers seems very good.

I think he used NV to put away other 'crap' besides Curses? Estates or Provinces/Duchies for instance.
Or maybe he used the NV mat as an intermediary, putting good cards there so they can't be skipped by Sea Hag.

Also if you have NV and Cartographer in hand, you're likely to get to pick a crap card to put on the NV.

Yeah, the NV mat is used to put crap and VP cards. In the end I had more than 10 cards on the mat! (coppers, VPs and curses)
