Some Set-Up Specific Info:
Each player will have a “sanity” number. In general, players do not know what sanity does, but you may have some information about it depending on your role. Unless you have reason to think otherwise, you should assume that it is bad for your alignment if you or other players of your alignment have low sanity.
Every player will have some kind of PR.
Some players may have roles that allow them or other players to change alignment during the game. A player will always be informed when he changes alignment.
Some players may have roles that restrict their posting abilities (what they can say, how often they can post, etc.).
Some players may be unable to claim certain aspects of their role; some players may even be unable to claim anything about their role at all, including the fact that they cannot claim anything about their role.
Some players may have roles that do things on Night 0.
Flavor is related to gameplay mechanics. It may be obvious which flavor names are associated with which alignment(s), and what kinds of powers players will have based on their flavor names. However, a mass claim would be devastating for town, because at least one scum faction benefits greatly from knowing the flavor names of other players.
The mod will never lie, in a way that they wouldn’t for a regular game. (For example, I may tell a cop that a mafia-aligned player is town, if that mafia-aligned player is a Godfather; that happens in regular games.) Players will always flip with the flavor name and alignment they had at the time of their death.
Each player will have his own QT.
Some win conditions are arguably not well-defined. Don’t think about it too much. Remember, your real wincon is to have fun!
There are a lot of crazy roles in this game that might interact with each other in weird ways. I didn’t come up with a strict order of resolution for everything beforehand, so if an interaction comes up that I hadn’t already thought about, I’ll make up a resolution on the fly. Such is the way of Bastard.
If your role permits you to take actions during the day, you may submit them at any time during the day (including twilight). As soon as I lock the thread at the end of the day, it is too late to submit a day action. If you have not taken your day action yet, you can submit a proxy action so that if the day ends early, you will take that action at the end of the day. Doing a proxy action allows you to submit an action to happen if the day ends, without committing to it.
This game will be complete chaos!
