Smithy is the most basic draw card in all of Dominion.
What does it do?It draws +3 cards, netting you a +2 card gain. That's two more cards than what you would have gotten than if you didn't play Smithy. With those extra cards, you can often buy higher priced Action, Treasure, and Victory cards. Sometimes if you set your deck up correctly, you can play many Smithies in succession, which draws you even more cards.
